New Evangeline Ghastly: Dandy of Death

I don't understand the name but I've seen this doll in person and she's gorgeous. The ensemble is definitely collector-worthy and if I were still collecting EG, I'd get it.
The price for this vinyl doll raises by $15. the usual dressed vinyl EG price to $190.  Ouch.

 The description:
It's our newest vinyl Evangeline with inset blue eyes,* applied lashes, and a changeable platinum wig. She's approximately 17" tall and completely ball jointed, with delicate hand painted features.  She comes dressed in a bodysuit, golden cravat and trim, lined brocade vest with golden buttons, pants, velvet jacket with ribbon ties, hat, pantyhose, and faux suede boots with laces and silver grommets.  The most fitting of looks for a day at the office, a picnic by the moors, or just writing in her diary.  LE 350

The eyes on these vinyl dolls cannot be changed although there is one person I know of who can do it but it involves head surgery.
Stands should be included at these prices. It's not like she can stand on her own. Goodness knows she can barely sit properly. I've mentioned previously that the inability of EG's joints to move well into poses is the reason I will not buy them any longer. They look cool - like Barbies look in their boxes - but I play with my dolls and I need dolls that can pose and hold poses.

I predict that she will sell out as she is quite different from prior releases, she's wigged and the fashion is very cool. I hope she's not stained under all that black fabric!

BTW Shipping is free until October 8 for purchases totaling $75. or more. Use the code SMILE15. Wilde Imagination ships worldwide. Yay them!

She Sells Sea Shells

I saw this outfit on an Evangeline a few months ago and hunted it down until I found the designer, Connie Lowe of Marbled halls. Luckily for me, she still had a few that she is selling directly at a 50% discount off retail.
I purchased "She Sells Sea Shells" seen on Everlasting Evangeline below and another of her outfits called "By the Sea."  Outfits were $75. each on sale.

The outfit comes with many pieces including the dress, hat, pantaloons, anchor necklace, stockings and shoes. In addition, a bag of shells, a metal pail and shovel and the black and white umbrella are part of the goodies! I added the red flowered umbrella which is a Madame Alexander Cissette accessory.

Evangeline is wearing a wig which comes from Timeless Evangeline, the  newer basic vinyl EG.

This is Connie's own photograph of "By the Sea," the other fashion I purchased.

Connie specializes in OOAK and LE items with an antique-y look. Please visit her website!

Wilde Imagination's New Offerings

I swear it's enough to drive a doll collector mad. Several new Ellowyne and Evangeline items were released last week.

I am so in love with this Evangeline but I will not buy another EG until they fix her body issues.  I hope someone over at the TDC reads this and takes it seriously because I'm on a campaign to get that body reworked. PLEASE DO SOMETHING to make Evangeline more user friendly. She's stiff and awkward and for a doll whose price is $175. we should get a doll that poses nicely and can sit up straight. Doncha think?

She is called Imaginary Life. LE350 Her price is $175. She's vinyl with inset teal eyes and applied lashes. I want her so badly.  I  love that she's not wearing black, gray or red. She is so beautiful. I don't think I would even redress her.
This is Dark Desire. $175. Vinyl. Inset green eyes. Rooted black hair with white stripes. She is cool but reminds me of so many of prior EGs.

The newest EG fashion is called Gothic Romance. It's priced at a painful $110. and doesn't come with shoes. The shoes, Plum Paces, would go well with this fashion. Of course it's gorgeous but it's not a must have. Will fit resin and vinyl bodies. LE300. Ships after June 10th.
Some EG fashions are so fabric rich one could make two outfits from them.  The fabrics used are gorgeous and I haven't found a single problem with any fashion item I've purchased.

"FREE Shipping on any order of $75 or More! Free shipping within Continental U.S. only. International customers use Promo Code SMILE14INT at checkout to receive $9.95 OFF any order of $75 or more. This promotion ends June 4th at midnight ~ so don't wait!"

The newest Ellowyne is called Going in Circles. Rooted brown hair and painted green eyes. The outfit is cute. She retails for $149. and is an LE of 1000. She comes with a stand.

There are some other new dolls and fashions. See the WI site for those. You can download a digital catalog and see really big images. Nice!

Ellowyne has a new shoe collection. If you want to buy them separately, that's an option, too. As a collection the price is $128.

New Ellowyne and Evangeline Items at Wilde Imagination & Free Shipping

Some very pretty new items went up on the Wilde Imagination sites today. For Ellowyne there are two new dressed dolls, one new basic and three new outfits. The new dolls have inset eyes. The dolls look more alive to me with inset eyes. Both dolls are LE 1,000

Tears of Endearment $149.00        Wit's End    $155.00
Wit's End must be channeling Daniel Boone era. Perhaps she's a dancehall girl from old western movies.

The new outfits below, seem to be toned down compared to prior releases. All are LE 1,000.
Stolen Moments $74.00        Fur Real $74.00        Ties That Bind $79.00
For Evangeline there are 10 new outfit items that have been added since I looked last week. They are blouses, skirts, jackets a cape and a bustier ranging in price from $58. to $72. One can buy the "Attic Collection Three" for the tidy sum of $520. It includes all ten items. There are definitely four must haves in that group - maybe 5....

The items are gorgeous!
There is a period of free shipping until the end of February in the continental US with a purchase of at least $75. Add the promo code SPRING11 to your order form.

I'm not thrilled with the articulation/engineering of Evangeline. I like to play with my dolls and pose them and photograph them. These girls are awkward and difficult to pose. Their joints are kicky. Their heads do not move properly. They can't sit up. I may not buy any more dolls in the line until they improve the poseability. It's definitely not out of the range of the company's abilities. I have less expensive dolls with better articulation. I know that people were influenced by my first reviews and bought dolls. The market definitely has room to grow. The quality of the product needs to grow to meet the demands of a discerning collector. I'm sad to say that Evangeline has the least posing ability of any other fully articulated doll in my collection.

New Stuff - Ellowyne, Sybil, Evangeline, Outfits

This month has been filled with hard-to-avoid sales and I avoided very few of them.

Here are some of the latest additions to my collection, all from Wilde Imagination.

Ellowyne's Cat, Sybil, will make an appearance from time to time. I love putting creatures in my doll photos. This one is a riot with her crazy face and motley fur.  I just noticed that she arrived with part of her lower jaw missing. Apparently she has bitten off more than she could chew. Bad kitty.

My newest Ellowyne is called Empty Thrill. I love her outfit!

A few weeks ago I purchased a nude, bald "Essential Ellowyne, Too Wigged-Out - Debut." She was just hanging out on the day Princess Diana's "Travolta" gown arrived so she was dressed in it. One snap located at the widest part of her hips had to be left undone, otherwise the fit is excellent. She is wearing her "bored" wig with the pieces of hanging hair wound around the buns. I think she looks great.

Everlasting Evangeline who came with two wigs got a quick shot in  her basic outfit. I added the Joe Tai jewelry.
Below, Everlasting is dressed in a new fashion called "Grey As The Moors." One of the things I love about her fashions is that there is no skimping on volume. The cape is amazingly beautiful and the hood is very large.

Here is "A Tangled Web" dressed in "A Windy Evening" coat and the "Eternal Tulle Skirt Set." The skirt comes with hosiery that has differently patterned legs. It's a little Alice in Wonderland-ish but very pretty.

Finally we have Waiting For Mortimer wearing the most amazing fashion yet, "Widow's Walk."
It starts with a lovely, all black dress that laces up the front and has a full, sweeping, drapey skirt. The coat is made from a gorgeous woven brocade fabric with puff sleeves and sweeping, long black drapey things. This fabric spreads out quite far, if desired, or can be puddled at the hem. Right now the outfit is on sale as it's almost sold out. I paired it with the shoes called "Plum Paces."

Here are  pictures from the Wilde website to show you what the dress underneath looks like and the shoes which I added.

The new Evangelines are stunning. But it's time for me to really enjoy what I already have and get some of that Play Power turned on.

Pretty Doll Pictures

I've been crazy busy these last few weeks with new dolls and doll clothes. I finally photographed the Misaki I purchased during the convention in Pittsburgh more than 2 months ago. She is Red Rabbit and I wanted her from the first time I saw her. I sold my entire Misaki collection about three years ago. She is the only one living here.

She is sitting on a little shelf with one of my computer speakers. I am happy to finally have her.

The Evangeline Ghastly stuff keeps flowing in. As of today I have acquired three dressed dolls, nine complete fashions, several separates and accessories such as hats and shoes, wigs and Bella. I have never gone so gaga over a doll. I am quite sure that part of this is my desire to go in a different direction with my collecting.

A Tangled Web in A Windy Evening coat.
Waiting for Mortimer with Bella.
Everlasting Evangeline in her own outfit with Joe Tai jewelry.
Aren't they gorgeous? The first and third EG's are wigged. I wish they were all wigged dolls. It's so much more fun to be able to change their appearance.

I have been buying clothing for my 16" dolls and filling in here and there. The big girls are getting lots of attention and they look fabulous. I stare at Devon a lot. She is so gorgeous. I'm a little afraid to touch her. I've got lots of stuff for her to try. Right now she is in one of the Tonner Death by Fashion dresses and I just stare at her. I will take a picture....after I finish staring. I haven't even posted a picture of her in this blog yet.  Here she is in Bijou's gown and necklace. The wig is AG Eclectic's (I think.)
These pictures of Devon were taken with a point and shoot camera.
(That's an excuse. Haha)

The next two were taken in the studio.
Original Wig by Pattart

I am having problems with my camera and lighting. My pictures are coming out off color and it may be due to my older strobes. I readjusted the settings inside the camera but I'm not satisfied. I have to do way too much post-processing color adjustment.

I Love Obsessed Doll Collectors

It's such a pleasure to find an obsessed doll collector. They make me feel so frugal. I posted a picture on Prego earlier. In one of the comments I was asked if I saw a picture that was posted  yesterday. The link led me to this:
Johanna Reinhardt
Don't forget to click on the picture to see the full-size version.
This is Johanna's collection which contains every vinyl EG and two resins. She also has all the clothes and accessories except for one corset. Gee, Johanna, how did you let that one get away? LOL

More Evangeline Ghastly

A  Tangled Web with Bella.

One of these days I have to do something other than play with my dolls. I don't know why, but I have to.

Waiting For Mortimer

Here is one of my new Evangeline Ghastly dolls. She is called Waiting for Mortimer. The little creature with her is a 5" resin doll called Bella. She's a bat.
Waiting is such a drag.
We'll practice our ballet moves.
Bella is clingy.

Under the Spell of Tonner's Evangeline Ghastly

I have never fallen so fast for a doll. My first hasn't even lived here for an entire week and a second one is on its way. Outfits and accessories are finding their way to my home. Michelle over at Wilde Imagination's customer service is my new email pal. I'm sunk.
This is an extreme case of not liking a doll at first and then falling in love with her. Even her freaky big hands aren't bothering me anymore!

This doll is "Tangled Web" Evangeline. I dressed her in red during a major redressing event last night in which 4 dolls were changed into 'holiday' colors. She is vinyl, wigged and has gorgeous big blue eyes.  I didn't realize prior to getting her last week that she was a ball jointed doll. She's bigger than my other Tonner gals at 17 inches tall. I haven't tried any clothing switches yet and I don't think I'm going to need to do that because she's already got a nice wardrobe of her own stuff.

I had mentioned change was coming a little while back and this is one part of that change.
