Ficon Miss G and Sybarite Luggage

Before I even received my gold luggage set, I received an email explaining that the factory had made flawed pieces and that I could have a refund or a replacement. Bummer.  I got the luggage the next day and the gold material on the surfaces of the pieces was, indeed, flawed in several places.
Sad because this item is just adorable. The insides are lined in fabric and have pockets, mirrors, straps and fittings you'd find inside human luggage. The straps and hinges and other metal components on the exterior are perfect. There's an embroidered tag for each piece as well.
I'll be able to use them as a prop even though they are flawed. I wonder what color I'll get for my replacement. I'm hoping it's not green. I would like the black but it's not up to me.

Here is Miss G wearing a wig by Cheryl Wood. Her outfit is a Ficon fashion called "Tree of Joy."
It is still available on the Ficon website.

The Perennial Question: To Debox or Not?

I was browsing through a 1996 issue of Barbie Bazaar earlier today and came across this opinion piece written by A. Glenn Mandeville who was the Price Guide Editor.
You can click on the article to bring it up to it's original size which will make it easier to read.

Everything he wrote is still valid today especially the part about enjoying ones dolls. Although his article is directed at Barbie Doll collectors, much of it is applicable to other 1/6 scale doll collectors, namely those who collect Fashion Royalty.

Do you debox?

Jamieshow Violet ReStyled

I bought this Madame Alexander fashion (on a doll) specifically because I knew it would be beautiful on my new Violet. The shoes do not fit but the dress fits beautifully. The Ilaria wig was made for Sybarites. I am very happy that it fits the Jamieshow head.
Violet is stunning as a blonde!

J'Adore Gene got Violet's lavender gown.

Amy Farrah Fowler - Or Not?

Today Tonner released the promotional prototype photo of the Amy Farrah Fowler doll. At first glance, it looks like her. Up close, not so much. A few thirty-somethings that I showed her picture to don't think it looks a lot like Amy. I like her glasses and that's about it.
What do you think of this doll who stands only 15" tall and is on Tonner's teenager body?
