At Last - Photos
The camera is unpacked but the lights are not. I'm not quite sure where they are as there are still about 200 closed boxes. Sigh.
Happy Birthday to Gene Marshall's Dad

Superdoll Abbe Lane on Sale Tomorrow
Marl announced today that "Wolf Whistles," a new creation from the makers of Sybarite dolls, will be available exclusively at marlbe.com tomorrow, September 1 at Noon, Eastern Time.
Here is the text of the announcement:
I prefer the closed mouth, but I would have to see her in person as it is hard to tell from the pictures. I read that the Abbe doll does not use the current Sybarite body.
I am perplexed as to why there are still nearly 40 Neurotica Sybarites remaining. (No it doesn't say that on the website but there is a way to figure it out.) I love mine. She is gorgeous. Her fashions is stunning. Her face is divine. Perhaps people were put off by the tattoos or the unusual hairstyle or the high price of $820. (EEK) I'm thrilled to have mine.

It was a very busy week in the 16" fashion doll world. Today Ajuma went on sale. I scored one. How could I resist? She is just magnificent.
Look for me in the Poor House but at least I will have my dolls.

Update on Not Having a Doll Room...Yet
Out of desperation, I went to the storage unit this afternoon and decided to take two huge boxes home. The spousal unit accompanied but without the desperation attached. I was looking for the box with my Sybarites and just gave up because the boxes say either dolls or doll props and pretty much no other content identifying marks. So we put one big carton in the car and then I opened another and lo and behold, inside were the boxes in which my precious Sybarites, Ficon and Jamieshow were packed. YAY! They are now safely home.
Tonner's 2012 Fall/Holiday Line Release
This afternoon the pictures of Tonner's new dolls were revealed. It is a large release. Collectors who loved the 16" Marilyn Monroe will be happy to know that there is one new basic Marilyn as Pola Debevoise (?) and four era appropriate fashions. A fully dressed 16" Marilyn in the hot pink "Diamonds" gown is also going to be available for $189.99.
There are five dressed Precarious dolls and one basic. It bothers me that new Precarious dolls have been introduced and the ones I currently have on pre-order haven't even shipped.
This one looks a lot like Raven and I thought the redhead was Antoinette until I enlarged the image enough to see her face clearly.
My favorite fashion is on a dressed Cami. She is lovely but I have enough Camis right now. I would like the outfit.
Also making an appearance are Gone With the Wind dolls, Peggy Harcourt, Nu Mood, Memphis characters, Ron Weasley, Vampire Diaries, Marvel Comics, Wizard of Oz (Steampunk Style), The Hunger Games, Twilight New Moon, American Models, Disney and 10" Patsy. I'm out of breath just typing that.
Where is Tiny Kitty and Simone Rouge?
The Nu Mood Tyler looks really odd. Is this a revamped sculpt or just a bad promo shot? Yikes. But the price is right! She comes wearing a white bodysuit and the wig.
There is also a Nu Mood Sydney that doesn't look like Sydney, one with the Breathless sculpt and one with the very popular Cinderella sculpt.

Angelic Dreamz just posted pictures of several new Barbie dolls for 2013. Three are Dolls of the World and two (first on left and the fourth) are "The Barbie Look."
There are several clothing/accessory packs as well for your dolls. Who doesn't love fashions that come along with accessories and props?
Apparently there will be another Bella doll and an Emmet is on the way, too. Oh goodie.

Need Another Place to Spend Money?
One of my favorite eBay sellers knits & crochets the finest tiny clothing. I've purchased five outfits from her for my Puki Puki dolls. Her seller ID is Maisiedoats.
She creates clothes for several different sized dolls including Amelia Thimble, Tiny Betsey, Tiny Kitty, Puki Puki, 10" Anne Estelle and Real Puki. This month there's even something for Cissy! She lists items about twice a month. The quality is excellent. Her starting prices are very fair. Shipping is only $3. from Australia. It takes a few weeks to get to the US but it's so worth it.
A sample of Maisiedoats' current offerings:
Look at those tiny stitches and details.
Happy Shopping!

OOAK Numina by Paul Pham
Today Paul posted these photographs of his new OOAK Numina, Dusk. He described her as a "pale skin Devon in a OOAK beaded and sequined lace and chiffon dress with a silk organza wimple and OOAK suede ankle boots."
She is the first in a collection of 6 one- of-a-kind dolls. The next up is Dawn who is currently in the works.
You can contact Paul by going to his website Dollcis.

A Formal Introduction
This past week on Prego, members have been posting personal introductions. It's fascinating to get background information and see pictures of other collectors. It also strengthens the community. I love it.
I had time today to post one of my own. If you would like to read it, here is the link.

Check out Dave's Miss Gene Marshall and Her Hollywood Friends blog for more fabulous photographs and information on the dolls pictured there. Dave's dolls include more than Gene. He also features many of Tonner's and Integrity Toy's dolls who are meant to represent movie stars.

Gorgeous Doll Photography by Ernesto Padro-Campos
I don't know if I'm going to get back to the Picture of the Week Award as I used to do but today's picture of the moment is this fabulous shot of Gene Marshall wearing red as described by Ernesto here:
If you would like to see the original post, go to the Studio Commissary Doll Board.
Miss Marshall is making everyone see red and on purpose. Her buddy Liz Cole designed a turban and gown of sparkly vintage knit in luscious red (and spicy) pepper. The Pepto Bismol pink gloves are from Oona's Bellwether ensemble. Jewelry from "Striking Gold" and sunglasses from Madra's "Cat Walk" ensemble. The boa is Carol Barrie's by TDC. The attitude is her own.

Sybarite Domina, Champ Pac Accessory
I deboxed Domina last night and absolutely love her. She is stunning. From her hair to her neutral face palette to her animal print stockings, she's a winner in every way. I must get her a whip.
The workmanship on the shoes is not perfect. There seems to be glue mixed with paint in certain areas. You can see smudging of the black onto the tan in this image. So she isn't perfect but she's as close as it gets.
My Champ Pac was finally released from customs in New York. That was the first experience I ever had with a parcel being held in customs. I'm wondering if it had something to do with the Olympics being held in London and the security surrounding the events. I wonder if all parcels shipped out of London were held longer than usual at their destinations? Odd.
The contents of the Pac is a collection of fun items: five shorts, two sequin tube tops, sheer gloves, two "shocking" colored wigs, winged pumps, a space blanket, champagne and best of all, four pairs of expressive hands. I could do without a few of the items but the hands were the important part of the Pac to me. The tube tops can be combined with other fashions so they will be useful and the wigs can certainly be used for fun shots. Anyone want a space blanket? I read that these mylar blankets are used by some athletes to keep the body warm. That makes sense.
Another shot of Neurotica in repose on my kitchen island.

Lorrence Makes It Work with Dynamite Girls
Lorrence, aka WuDollsClubKid, posted his reinterpreted versions of Mattel's set of Tim Gunn dolls on the W Club board. Lorrence used Dynamite Girls by Integrity Toys instead of the original Barbies. I love how well the clothes fit these bodies.
If you look back a few posts you can see what the original dolls looked like. Which do you prefer? I like the Lorrence's Dynamite Girl version because they are articulated and make the best use of the cute outfits. It makes me want to purchase the Barbie dolls just for their clothing. It wouldn't be the first time I've done that but I always wind up selling both the Barbies and the clothes due to the quality issues.

She's finally unwrapped and out of her box. I am loving her.
I am looking forward to photographing her with a good camera.
