Parting Shot

We're leaving for IDEX in the wee hours tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to the Mel Odom event and seeing other doll buddies without a computer between us.
The spousal unit and I will also play at Universal for a few days. It's going to be so much fun.

Here is a quick picture I took of Inro the other day. I've been trying out different wigs. I like her in the darker shades.  I did get a wonderful new wig from Ilaria yesterday and it will make it's appearance in FDQ soon.

Inro

Finally, after nearly 4 months I am feeling comfortable in my new studio. I was having issues with the quality of the light and so much more that I was avoiding going down there to work.
So I take these pictures of Inro and take the memory card, insert it into the reader and NOTHING. I'm going to die, right? I keep plugging the USB cable into different ports on the hub and NOTHING. So I go down and get the camera to link it directly to the computer and NOTHING.
Is it the card, the cable, the snow? Seriously!!!

My last attempt to upload the pictures was successful when I located an empty USB slot directly into my laptop and in seconds all the shots were on the computer. The darn USB hub is messed up. It's like the 4th one I've had. They all suck.

Back to more pleasant experiences.

I decided to trim Inro's lower lashes and I'm very happy with the results. They were masking the beautiful sculpt of her cheekbones and drawing her eyes down into the rest of her face. I may give a little color to her cheeks next time I get her out to play.

After I trimmed them it was time to dress her and just for the heck of it I pulled out a Gene Marshall by Mel Odom (Ashton Drake) outfit I have never had on a doll. It is a two piece plus belt linen outfit that would be very fashionable today from the Star Wardrobe collection. It fits and looks hot! I never imagined that Gene clothes would fit Inro.

I have Jamieshow shoes on her feet. I had to warm up the shoes to get them on and they still aren't fitting perfectly. I hope I find other shoes she can wear as Inro has very wide feet.

Around her neck is a gorgeous OOAK neckpiece by Asher of New England called "Quezacotl."
She is wearing a generic size 4/5 wig previously purchased for Avantguard dolls.

What do you think about the lash job?

Review of Emilia Couture's Doll Inamorata Inro

This is basically a pictorial review of Inro's body and posing ability.
I started out by taking pictures of her next to a Gen3 Sybarite body. I was surprised that she is so much smaller. Inro is much lighter than a Sybarite which is no surprise because Sybs are weighty dolls. She has a very warm yellowish skin tone.

Her body is very angular, her head even more so.

The hands shown are one of three pair provided with the doll in addition to a pair of paddle-like shipping pieces.

As you can see, she is incredibly flexible. Her joints move smoothly and hold their position.

Style is a personal preference. Inro is not a doll for the faint of heart. Her appearance is very far from the standard fashion doll of today's market. That's what I like and dislike at the same time. Her face-up is total runway drama. Eventually I may shorten the lower lashes - or not. I waver back and forth. Part of me wants to make her look more like my other dolls but that's not why I bought her.

Like the rest of my collection, Inro needs more play time. I enjoyed photographing her and that's essential for a doll to remain in my collection.

Inro Gets Her Man

I've been so busy with the house that all I've had time for is trying a few wigs on Inro. Handling her  is a delight. I wish all of my non-Sybarite resin dolls posed like this one. I don't want to make a detailed comparison between her and the Sybarite body except for the hands.  Inro's hands are far superior and were easy to change out. I do have sets of expressive hands for my Sybs but when I attempted to see how difficult it would be to pull out a hand to get to the stringing, I decided to pass.

In this image, Inro is wearing a Cheryl Wood wig. Although it was made for Sybarites, it is resting on her head nicely. It would fall right off if I tilted her.

I did have time to get a man for this lady. Tonner's basic Hogyo arrived today. I don't know why I didn't like this doll at first. He is my second Hogyo and I really think he's great-looking. I love the pony tail!

These are Instagrammed pictures shot with my iPad. One day soon, these dolls will make it into my studio for a proper photo shoot.

Several "older" couples inhabit my showcases. Here's one Gene and Trent. I like the chiseled look of Trent but the Trent bodies are stiff and can barely pose at all. Even the Trents that Integrity Toys made for the last Gene convention are stiff as they used the same design for the body. I love Gene more now than I did when I first met her. I can't wait to see what Mel has up his sleeve at IDEX.

Emilia's INRO Has Arrived

Inro is standing on my computer desk right now. I can't stop looking at her!
I took a few quickie shots with my iPad of the "opening ceremonies."
There was a wonderful surprise in the box with the doll. A full sized picture-on-fabric backdrop was included!
Her attached paddle-shaped hands would be perfect for gloves if one was so inclined. She does come with three sets of expressive hands.
She exceeds my expectations.
Normally I don't apologize for my pictures but this doll deserves better and these are posted for us picture-hungry collectors.
As someone else has posted, if any are still available and you're on the fence, don't hesitate to buy her now. She's not like an untested new model car. This doll is fabulous.

Click the links to see the doll measurements and to read more about Inamorata dolls. Inro has a subble make up in earthen tones amplified by a fluttering set of over long runway eyelashes. She has a full body blushing and nail polish in deep maroon.
Inro's fashions is a modern haute couture interpretation of a samurai armour and she carries a 1:1 scale inro box as her purse. The outfits consists of a corset teddy that can also be worn as lingerie, a pencil skirt armoured with hand-painted bamboo slips and an intricately detailed leather jacket. The inro box purse is printed with golden paintings on each side: one with a cicada and the other with a dragonfly.
