How I love this eupehmism: "inspired". What about "stolen without any reluctance whatsoever"?
ReplyDeleteAt the present prices for doll gowns or dressed FR2/monogram dolls you can actually get some reduced real designers' stuff.
I think that's what I'll do.

Wow...
ReplyDeleteMost of these "inspired" designs
are very obvious!
For the Escapade suit - at least a color change would have indicated a more subtle K.O.!
;)

Inspired.. stolen.. I keep wondering why if Jason is/was the FR designer, he isn't inspired to dress his line of dolls in originals.
ReplyDeleteBut then.. there is a lot of this stuff going on.. the Jaimie Show shoes "inspired by GaGa & Alexander McQueen".. A.M. designed them and left all of that stuff to her. I'm sure the cheque is in the mail. LOL.

I really don't get why doll collectors defend this practice. I find it doubly offensive when Tonner and Wu do it as they were/are both professional FASHION designers. They should be held to a higher standard. Inspiration is one thing but those literally recreate exact "Reproductions" in miniature. Color, Fit, Everything.
ReplyDeleteIf they are that stretched that theft is the only option they maybe they should cut back some.
I would have liked the black Fr2 fashion better in eggplant, I am tired of black fR clothing and worrying about leaving it on my dolls for fear of staining.
ReplyDeleteIm sorry, but isnt Jason Wu a designer himself? He has to "borrow" from other disigners? Integrity, I have to ask, Do you have integrity?
