Kinsman Doll Booth

Booth arrived and, as you can see above, I did the unpacking ceremony in front of a camera. The packaging was secure and perfect and the doll arrived in pristine condition - no surprise there.

My new man arrived with a pair of briefs, his wig and a stand. I had no problem at all having him stand unsupported. His joints are excellent. There's no kickiness or looseness. Although his body shading may have looked heavy in some early promotional photos, in person the contouring is just right.

He's wearing Trent's sweater. I've got to try some other stretchy man doll clothing on him.

Real men love little dogs!

New Outfits

In my not-so-humble opinion, the navy blue ensemble called "On Set," modeled below by re-bodied "Overachiever" Eugenia Frost, was the best of the recent FR Cinematic Convention offerings. It was in the registration bag. It's sleek and sexy and I love it.

The only other item I wanted from this event is being modeled by another re-bodied Eugenia, "Most Desired."  This outfit is from "Inner Spark" Natalia, a convention package doll.
Yes, it's another fish tail black gown but I like it. The texture of the surface swirls almost makes the gown look beaded. The bodice could have been a bit tighter but it's just fine on the FR2 body as is.

I'd still like to have the Elise "Starlet" centerpiece doll nude only because I love that sculpt but I'm not paying the price being asked as it's not important enough. She's not in the running as one of the best Elise dolls anyway. No FR sculpt is that necessary anymore because my collecting funds go towards the resin BJDs now. I'll still buy a doll or three occasionally but I've also sold off a portion of my FRs.

____________

The gown and wig above are a wonderful pair of creations by Cholo Ayuyao. Bravely modeled by Sybarite Toxica, it leaves little to the imagination.

In this, our precious world of pretty dolls, one has to be very selective to curate a rewarding collection according to one's own means. I'm getting better at that now.

There is much to sell off but it takes so much time which might better be spent playing.

Balance? Moderation? What are they?

Moschino Barbie® Doll – Caucasian - African American

These dolls disappeared quickly. They were scheduled to go live at 6AM Pacific Time. That would be 9AM my time but they were gone before that. I hate the Barbie.Com website. Either their site crashes or they don't stick to schedules. Really messed up!
I would have ordered one just for the pieces of the outfit I like.
Their faces and bodies are turn-offs IMO.

The retail price of these Gold Label dolls was $150.  Gold Label editions are 25,000 or less.  Must have been a lot less to have disappeared so quickly.

Purse of the Month Club

I've often been asked how to join the Purse of the Month Club and I thought this would be a good subject for a blog post.
Every month, sisters Diana Wieler and Janet Ellis, send an email out to their mailing list with the Purse of the Month offerings. It's not just a purse, although you can buy just the purse.
They also offer coordinate ensembles, separates, accessories and a higher category called "Elite."

They do take requests to a certain extent as to size of a 12" doll body and length of skirt. I collected their bags for approximately three years and I adore them. They are made exceptionally well with wonderful fabrics and perfect little hardware. Now they're also offered in a scale to suit 16" dolls as well as 12" dolls.

Here is a very old photo showing bag, purse and shoes. I believe the outfit was also something they made.

This month's purses are influenced by Lulu Guinness bags. They are precious! Either bag is $32. plus shipping.

You might like the Lulu Library Tote that comes with a chiffon scarf for $30.

Halloween Sybarite "Guillotine"

I missed the posting of this unique Halloween Sybarite. (Luckily for my credit card) Another collector was kind enough to send me the description and photo.
I just love the knife knitting needles. They're so fun. The gown is stunning. Someone commented that her lips are dark blue.
This beauty was a limited edition of 100 and sold out quickly as she was available to prior convention goers to pre-order.

Price before shipping = £255.25 or  $394.57

W Club Luncheon and Gala Dinner - Cinematic Convention Part #4

On Saturday, the W Club Luncheon offered attendees the information about an upcoming line which will feature a 12" Tulabelle.

The dolls - blonde, blue-eyed and very white.

At the Saturday banquet it was announced that next year's convention will take place in Chicago.

The one character I would have wanted to buy is probably going to be the most difficult doll to obtain so I don't know if I'll try. There are 450 of them so she's not exactly 'rare.' I have lots of trades I can make for one but I'll just go and play with my Kingdom Dolls and forget all about her. Apparently Elyse is the new Vanessa.

Making An Entrance
Karolin Stone™ Dressed Doll (Main Souvenir Doll)
A new character being introduced in the Nu. Face collection, Ms. Karolin Stone, an intriguing and secretive model and actress with an eye for drama and a flair for fashion!

Opinion:
My overall impression of the offerings are very positive towards the dolls and their fashions.  The least appealing dolls IMO were the Poppy Parkers except for the centerpiece doll and the OOAK.  The Color Infusion male dolls rocked as did the workshop male. It goes to show you that a doll for $45. wearing a $35. outfit can be fabulous.
I'm not an Agnes fan but Vaughn's OOAK and the mini gift set were excellent.
A friend of mine told me yesterday that he spent $3000. so far. That's a lot of dolls.
I'm sure most attendees went home happy and loaded with dolls to keep and to sell.
