Numina Emry
Paul Pham has announced his latest Numina doll, Emry.
Emry will be available for pre-order at www.dollcis.com on Saturday, November 29 at 12 Noon EST.
A 50% deposit plus shipping is due upon pre-ordering. Doll will be ready to ship in March of 2015.
She's pretty, but I generally prefer a darker lip color. Dolls with light colored lips seem to get "lost in the crowd" more easily when among other dolls.
I'm curious as to what you and other collectors think of her compared against other Numina dolls and other lines (such as Sybarites, JAMIEshows, and Ficons).
Personally I think each of the lines you have mentioned has its own unique qualities and strengths. This is a beautiful doll. My husband has decided she's the most beautiful doll he's ever seen and I have quite a few! As far as lip color goes...for me it depends upon the doll. I like them both ways.
Reading a comparison of the different higher price point lines would be really helpful, even if it would be more general because each doll is different. If you've already done that, a link would be terrific. If you haven't, please consider doing one. :-)
It appears that one of the issues with buying dolls is that it is almost all done remotely. It's impossible to really know what the doll is like when you're making that decision based on pictures on a website. Emry might give off a "buy me" vibe if I saw her in person -- but perhaps it's a good thing she can't!
Thank you for the challenge. It would be interesting to attempt to do that. I don't have certain dolls that would need to be included - yet. Hehe. My current favorite 16" females are my Sybarites, Kingdom dolls and Ficon dolls. I'm not going to go into it further here.
The notification came through that Emry has sold out, so you are fortunate to have picked her up in time!
The Haute Doll exclusive Numina, Alma, has twice the production size (50 to Emry's 25) and is still available despite being on sale since July/August. I've wondered about production sizes for quite a while, but this does help me to understand better. Having a "sold out buzz" helps build desirability for future releases, whereas having a run that takes a long time to sell doesn't look as good.

I did not buy Emry.
DeleteAlma was not as popular as most of Paul's other dolls because, IMO, she was not as attractive.
