Lam Loves Robert Tonner's Tyle-Body-Size Fashions.

The original Tyler body is a fair match to Lam with these differences: Lam has a slimmer waist and hips. Her bust is a bit smaller as well. Lam's extra 1/2" of height doesn't make a discernable difference. I like my dolls in shorter skirts anyway.

Lam is modeling Robert Tonner's outfit from Carol Barrie called "Hollywood Treasure." Her Harrod's tote with teddy bear and silk scarf are from the Purse of the Month Club. Wig by Ilaria.

Purse of the Month Club

For several years Diana Wieler and her sister, Janet Ellis, have been creating monthly doll-sized handbags and coordinating outfits. I have posted about it before http://terrigoldphoto.blogspot.com/search?q=Purse+of+the+Month+Club and in many of my photos one of their bags shows up on the arm of a doll.
Their business name is La Boutique and this month's offering has a nautical theme for it's miniature Chanel bags. These are just adorable!
These are suitable for 1/6 scale dolls (12") but you can ask if it's possible to have it made in 1/4 scale for 16" dolls.

Purse of the Month Club

I've often been asked how to join the Purse of the Month Club and I thought this would be a good subject for a blog post.
Every month, sisters Diana Wieler and Janet Ellis, send an email out to their mailing list with the Purse of the Month offerings. It's not just a purse, although you can buy just the purse.
They also offer coordinate ensembles, separates, accessories and a higher category called "Elite."

They do take requests to a certain extent as to size of a 12" doll body and length of skirt. I collected their bags for approximately three years and I adore them. They are made exceptionally well with wonderful fabrics and perfect little hardware. Now they're also offered in a scale to suit 16" dolls as well as 12" dolls.

Here is a very old photo showing bag, purse and shoes. I believe the outfit was also something they made.

This month's purses are influenced by Lulu Guinness bags. They are precious! Either bag is $32. plus shipping.

You might like the Lulu Library Tote that comes with a chiffon scarf for $30.

"Museum Day" Fashion Design by K Exclusively for R&D

Rudi Teruel has been selling very limited editions of fashions made by various artists these past few months. They sell out rather fast and he advertises them only on Facebook.
This fashion is called "Museum Day." It came in a long-sleeved version in a red colorway. Originally there was a white ribbon belt and white ribbon straps which I removed. I thought the red belt looked more substantial and the dress obviously didn't need straps so I cut them off.
The quality of the fabric was surprising as is the very good construction of the panel skirt. It's fully lined with a light woven interfacing and all seams are finished. The dress snaps in the rear. Impressive! All this plus overseas postage for only $41.

The bag is a Birkin copy from the Purse of the Month Club and the red sunglasses and shoes are Fashion Royalty.

Below, Vanessa models the previous R&D fashion I received in August.

Elise Trifecta

I ought to be cleaning and doing yoga but taking pictures of dolls is so much more appealing. Today I took all three Elise dolls into my studio for a photo shoot. Click on the images to see larger versions.

Do you have a favorite?
In the photos of Flawless, I had to Photoshop out some of the hair defects which, I'm hoping, will be gone on the new head I'm going to get from IT.

Blue Blood Elise Jolie  2009 Convention Souvenir. She is not on an FR2 body.
I still have not changed her from her original fashion because I think she's just perfection.

Dark Swan Elise Jolie  The W Club Luncheon 2009 Centerpiece is wearing the new FR2 Fashion, Only Natural. I have added Knife Edge bracelets and a Purse of the Month handbag. I am considering cutting her hair to shoulder length and curling the ends. She is very sparsely rooted and needs some filler.
I sold her original black outfit as I didn't think it flattered her.
Dark Swan's huge braid was opened and her hair is tied back except for the shorter pieces.
Flawless Elise Jolie  I have added a feathery hat.
Balancing on her own. Don't try this at home without caution.
She sits beautifully! A Wonderful improvement.
Ring fits on separated fingers!
Uber-scaled earrings.
This is a really sucky picture but it shows the back of the dress bodice and boots.
Fabulous footwear.

W Club Mini Androgyny - Aphrodisiac Giftset

A nice sized box arrived the other day. It looked exactly like an Avantguard doll box. Opening it and peering inside at the two dolls was a really satisfying feeling. You know how it is when your expectations of a doll are met. It just makes you feel happy.
It is amazing that these two, who sport the Monogram sculpt, looked just like their bigger sisters. Actually, this mini Androgyny is prettier than the larger version. The outfits are almost exactly the same as well. I had heard that there was an issue with Andro being stained but mine did not have a mark on her. The pant suit is very, very tight and the fabric looked a little shaggy. The wigs, which are not shown, fit very well.  Each wig came packaged in its own teeny hatbox. The stands have the AG symbol on them - again exactly the same as the maxi AGs.

The new packaging sports little green rectangles here and there which are the moisture protectors being used now instead of the silica packets. Although there are a few packets amongst the accessories.

I decided that I didn't need to duplicate the outfits in miniature so I have redressed these dolls.
Androgyny is wearing a Kio wig, the outfit from Incandescent Monogram and carrying a Purse of the Month pink leather bag. Her diamond pin is from a Gene Marshall fashion. I have removed the hooks from the jacket as I like it better open and the hooks didn't look good.

I thought Aphrodisiac's exaggerated makeup would work with the outfit from Mina, Bride of Dracula. She is wearing a wig made for Puki Puki dolls. The pin on her lapel is from Facets. It attaches by means of a small magnetic disc.

I love these two dolls redressed. Because they are wigged gals, there are so many play possibilities. The giftset earns a 9 out of 10.  It's a winner.
