Radio City Rockettes - Dolls

The Madame Alexander Doll Company has a history of producing Radio City Rockette dolls in an assortment of costumes in which they performed over the years. Here are several. All of these dolls are currently available on-line. To find an individual doll's best price do a search using the doll's exact name and then just look for Rockette dolls or Madame Alexander Rockette dolls. The prices will vary and of course, you want the best price! Some of these dolls are on sale directly from Madame Alexander.

My favorites are the Cissy Rockettes followed closely by Dancing Diamonds. Cute, cute, cute. I do like cute. I think MA needs a more creative photographer. Almost all of their dolls appear to have the same pose. In reality they aren't the most flexible of dolls. It's interesting to note that among 16" vinyl dolls, up until about 6 years ago, the Alex line was the most articulated of all including Tonner and Gene. They had articulated wrists and feet before everyone else. And MA dolls have always had gorgeous eyelashes (as did Gene.)

Do you have a holiday collection of dolls? Perhaps you have one special doll you display at holiday time. Will you be adding a holiday themed doll to your collection this year?
I'm sure my readers would love to read about your holiday dolls. I would!

Tomorrow I'm going to pull some outfits and get a couple of my 16" dolls out of storage to put on display. It's play-time!

New Ficon Dressed Doll "2PM"

Ficon's new dressed doll went live on their website tonight. She is a beautiful resin BJD dressed in a contemporary, casual fashion.  2PM is a limited edition of 30 and is priced at $720. Click on the picture to go to Ficon's site.

Also available today from Rhi's studio is the "Tree of Joy" dress priced at $99.  It is made from gold leather with black & gold lace.

Talc in Apple

She is so gorgeous. Anything I put on this doll looks great.

Jubilation Monogram - Review

Jubilation arrived today. She is one of three holiday Monogram dolls recently offered to collectors.  Here are the pictures I took of her:

Nice neat updo, pretty face, well constructed gown, cool shoes and best of all, the gloves are easy to put on and do not look like pot holders! The gown is assymetrical from the waist down which I originally thought was a mistake in the promo photo. The winged thing is actually off to her right side. It is a little strange.
The gigantic earrings are interesting but way too large.

The retail price is $150.

Tonner Doll Co. November Product Release

It's so nice to have a juicy, doll-filled release compared to the mini releases we've had this past half year. I like it better this way.

The two new Theatre de la Mode dolls will make an appearance in my collection for sure. If you are familiar with the Theatre de la Mode Archive on the Tonnerdoll.com website, you will know that pictures of the original creations are posted as well as those of Robert's dolls. I hope to see the originals of these fashions, too. Robert has purchased 10. Now we've seen three.

ROYALE #82: $224.99 Retail
Royale is very reminiscent of the Gene Marshall style. I'm guessing that many Gene collectors will flock to this one. The gown has detailed pleating and draping and is floor-length. A full-length picture was not available on the Tonner blog, although there is a short video of Robert introducing her in which you can see the whole doll. Edition size not given.

MIDNIGHT #83 $199.99 Retail My first thought when I saw this dress was of a past TDLM release called Purely Platinum (see small picture-white dress.) The hairstyle looks similar as does the shape of the garment. Edition size not given.

The sculpt is being called the TDLM sculpt. That's awkward. She needs a name.  Will she be used for the rest of the new TDLM releases?  Will we get a separate fashion or two? That would be nice. It would cost nearly as much as the dressed doll as the bulk of the cost in producing a doll is the fashion.

Dazzling Tyler Wentworth  Retail $224.99  LE300
I absolutely adore the wigged hair. This is the original Tyler sculpt.

Many retailers will discount 15% off the retail prices now. Angelic Dreamz is offering free shipping as well for purchases over $100.

Death Be Not Proud

Published in 1633.

By John Donne

Death be not proud, though some have callèd thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.
Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell,
And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,
And better than thy stroake; why swell'st thou then;
One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more, death, thou shalt die.
