SALE at Two Daydreamers

There are a few items that are really well-priced at Two Daydreamers. Click on the name of the doll to go to the page and see the picture and details.

Madame Alexander's 21" Lust Cissy   Regular price: $349.95Sale price: $184.95

I won't bore you with the 10" Cissettes that are also on sale but there is a nice selection available.

Tonner's 17.5" Heart Stopper Regular price: $209.99Sale price: $144.99
I like him but I think he'd scare my smaller dolls.
Tonner's 16" Noir #99 Regular price: $249.99 Sale price: $149.99
Don't ask me why I paid almost full retail price.
 Tonner's 16" Ferse  Regular price: $199.99 Sale price: $129.99

There are quite a few dolls available from the last Tonner Convention and the subsequent Halloween Convention. This is the time to get them!

Two Daydreamers has a Clearance Tab filled with goodies and I like browsing there. Just remember - check eBay and other sources before buying because you will find wildly varying prices
Unfortunately, the 21" 85th Anniversary Cissy will never be reduced to a price I am willing to pay.  Original retail price was $1,699.95. "Sale" price $749.99. Ridiculous. I'd rather spend it on a new Sybarite.

Gretel - No Bread Crumbs

This doll is absolutely one of the prettiest Nu.Face/Nu.Fantasy dolls ever produced. Her screening and hair have all been done exceedingly well.
The boots are a nightmare of elastic threading and I won't even attempt to put them on. The rest of her fashion is lovely. The harness comes off easily. The strap around her neck is a separate piece.
She comes with standard issue pewter color bangles and black rhinestone studs.

Red Carpet Fashions at the Oscar Awards 2012

Last night's Oscar Award show was one of the best I've ever seen. The production was practically flawless. The jokes were pretty funny and the fashions were classy and gorgeous. Which were your favorites?

Angelina and Brad - OMG - she is drop dead gorgeous and sexy. Atelier Versace black velvet.
He's adorable.

Glenn Close - fabulously talented but someone needs to force this woman to do something with her hair. It's over-cooked and old-fashioned. The gown, meh. Zac Posen

Emma Stone needed to lose all that extra fabric at the neckline. It wasn't a detail that warranted so much attention. A gorgeous sparkly brooch would have done a much better job. Giambattista Valli Haute Couture

Rooney Mara was very interesting to look at. I liked the hair but I would like to see it in another style so I could compare. The gown she's wearing is beautiful but would benefit from larger breasts. Givenchy couture.

Natalie Portman- Her gown looks ordinary but the diamonds make up for it. Vintage Christian Dior gown.

Penelope Cruz - glamorous and very Hollywood but not up to her usual drop dead gorgeous look. I think it was the hair and pale palette of her make-up.   Giorgio Armani

Gwyneth Paltrow dressed as a Bar Mitzvah mom.  Tom Ford.

Jennifer Lopez - This gown enhances every one of her curves. Although I love Zuhair Murad's work I don't like it on JLo.

Meryl Streep - Is she too busy to get a styling? I don't care if she's not a skinny little thing, she could have been dressed in a more fashionable, flattering, stylish garment.  Lanvin.

Sandra Bullock - The top of this Marchesa gown did not flatter and made her look top heavy.

Giuliana Rancic - Gorgeous Tony Ward  gown.

Milla Jovovich  - Gorgeous Elie Saab gown. Makeup and hair all work together. She's a knock-out.

Nick Nolte looks ill.

Jane Seymour - WOW! What a gown. I love everything about it except the seam down the front. She's got quite a figure at 61 years old!

Missi Pyle - I'd cut off the droopy strap. Valentina Delfino. Click here for the dress back story.

Octavia Spencer - dressed and accessorized to perfection. Tadashi Shoji.

Michelle Williams - I'm not sure about the gown. There's a lot of stuff going on: multi-layered chiffon fabric, ruching, peplum, train....busy. Louis Vuitton. I love the diamond bow brooch at her waist.

Cameron Diaz in Gucci Premiere

Stacy Kelbler in Marchesa. Accompanied by George Clooney.

Stress Relief

With all the stress that accompanies buying and selling real estate I find that injecting some doll activity into my day really helps.
We made a nice little visit to the Tonner Store this afternoon. I don't even have to buy anything to feel good there. The Doll Doctor, Noreen, is always ready for a chat. I can check out whatever new dolls have shown up and gaze at dolls over and over again. Such delight.
Of course the only camera I had with me was my iPhone. Lizette is much prettier in person than the promo picture showed.

Ms. Beetlejuice did not disappoint. She's just as strange and wonderful in real life as she was in the promo.

I saw the Nu Mood dolls, the new wigs but none of the separates were there yet.  Next time I go over there, I promise to take a real camera. Famous last words.

I'm a sucker for free shipping - as if the costs weren't built in to the dolls already. Barbie Collector.com just has to send me a free shipping notice and I'm all over it. I put in my order for the club Silkstone, Afternoon Suit Barbie, and the Walking Suit Barbie. I used my first $20. coupon. New York State took $11.20.
Ugh. I don't want to go off into a rant about taxes but I feel like ranting anyway.

There is an adorable new tote bag on the site. I love the graphic which is different on each side.

Speaking of tote bags, I was able to order a few Jason Wu for Target items recently, one of which was the cat tote. It's adorable. I also got the cat scarf and the cat t-shirt. I ordered a large which is way too big for me. I figured that it would be cut small since Jason's clothes look like they're for a teenage body. I was wrong. If someone out there has a brand new, unworn medium cat t-shirt they'd like to trade for a large, let me know.

The scarf is beautiful and quite large. I rarely wear scarves but I will find a use for this one.
I also purchased two handbags and the blue pointelle sweater. I love the sweater!!!
I can just see myself in this dress with the socks and loafers and the German Nanny hairdo.

Nu Mood Body Descriptions – Tyler, Dance, Curvaceous and Heroic!

Originally posted by Kevin Von Duuglas-Ittu, Tonner's Director of Social Media on the Tonner Blog. This excellent information contains great pictures of the different Tonner body types being used in the Nu Mood lines.

The Tyler Body – sometimes referred to as ‘The Fashion Body’
• Classic fashion body
• Medium bust
• Slim hips
• Detachable hands and feet
• Thirteen points of articulation
• 16” tall
• Our most popular body style, used in numerous figures over the years. Any clothing made for Tyler Wentworth® will fit this body style. Wears Tyler Wentworth high heel shoe styles.

___________________________

The Dance Body
• Classic dancer body
• Small bust
• Slim hips
• Detachable hands and feet
• Thirteen points of articulation
• 16” tall
• The Dance body is used on doll styles that require a small bust, such as ballet dancers or flappers. The dance body has been used for our New York City Ballet collection as well as our Memoirs of a Geisha collection. Doll can wear most Tyler Wentworth® style clothing. However, we suggest checking the bodice fit before purchasing as tops may be loose on this body. Wears Nu Mood™ Ballet slippers only (high heel feet that work with Tyler Wentworth shoes may be purchased separately).
* Please note that the hips on this body do not rotate.

The Curvaceous Body
• Fuller, more rounded body
• Full bust
• Rounder hip
• Detachable hands and feet
• Thirteen points of articulation
• 16” tall
• Curvaceous body is a more womanly body than our classic Tyler body. Doll has a full bust and hip and is suitable for characters who call for an hour glass figure such as 2012 DeeAnna Denton. Nu Mood™ clothing as well as 2012 DeeAnna Denton clothing fit this body. Some Tyler Wentworth® clothing may work—however we suggest trying an outfit on the doll before purchasing if unsure of fit. Wears Tyler Wentworth high heel shoes.

The Heroic body
• Fuller, more rounded body
• Full bust
• Rounder hip
• Toned, muscular arms
• Detachable hands (doll may or may not have detachable feet–check item description)
• Thirteen points of articulation
• 16” tall
• The Heroic body is used for our current comic inspired heroines or where a more muscular body is required. Any curvaceous body clothing will fit this body. Some Tyler Wentworth® clothing may work—however, we suggest trying an outfit on the doll before purchasing if unsure of fit. Wears Tyler Wentworth high heel shoes, unless otherwise stated.
