2017 Convention Coverage Part 3... The Welcome Gala and East 59th After Hours Cocktail

A gorgeous Agnes was waiting for everyone at their table, looking ominous and edgy while sitting on her giant throne, dressed in a look inspired by the Evil Queen in Snow White. The big surprise of the evening was the announcement that the designers opted to mix the brands a little this year and Poppy Parker was unveiled as being the giveaway doll of the evening, looking ever so sweet in her Snow White inspired look.As a bonus to the centerpiece and surprise table gift of the evening, everyone received a gorgeous Nadja Rhymes doll, part one of the "Build-a-Giftset" box everyone received at registration.

_______________

From Thursday evening's offerings, I would definitely want Evelyn Weaverton's outfit. It's a Dior-based design and looks beautiful.

What happened to Nadja's cute face? Why change a winner?

Another question - What body do the East 59th dolls have?

  2. I actually think Nadja together with Erin are the only 100% succesful face changes from IT, I think Nadja is Sleeping Beauty... The sheer number of Poppies is overwhelming, tho.

    1. Having been involved with these dolls from the beginning, it’s often difficult to like changes in faces such as Vanessa 2.0 and Adele 3.0 and this Nadia. I liked her original vinyl color and face. JMO

  3. I loved the cute face of the original Nadja but she wS clearly a teenage model. I love that both she and Erin are now young adults. I too agree that they are the most successful sculpt charge to date. I would
Love to see the original sculp return as a one off though. Also I love the Annik sculpt though both productions face up was not to my taste . I toned them both down

  4. The Queen of Everything Agnes is.......EVERYTHING! The stand out doll for me with this Convention. And since Agnes rules as the evil queen over pure and innocent Poppy Parker in my Dolly kingdom, this pairing for the opening dinner was perfect.

Nadja was also well done but not a must have. I thought Rayna's screening was nice, but didn't care for that nipple revealing jumpsuit. I found Cinderella Evelyn remarkable with her Dior inspired gown. Glitter and all. It's stunning. I also really liked Tinkerbell Poppy and Little Red Riding Hood. The rest of the dolls? Not so much.

It was fun to see Integrity Toys interpretation of Fashion Fairytales.

  5. My favorites this year were Nadja and Erin along with Agnes for FR. As for Nadjas face sculpt, I personally love it. It captures her sassy character better ( and it’s prettier imo), along with Erin and Ayumi since they’re models with attitude lol
