As I Predicted...

The SDCC Tonner exclusive Sheldon Cooper doll and the Vintage Wonder Woman doll are now up for sale on the Tonner site.

Sheldon is $169.00. (They forgot to put the ubiquitous .99 on the end.)

VWW is $475.00

  1. I like how close Sheldon's likeness is. They did a great job, especially on the lips.

  2. I'd like to see production shots of Sheldon. Good likeness here. Love the Tyler 2.0 sculpt, but wish she was on a superhero body.

  5. So my SDCC Sheldon is here. He is indeed wigged (has little painted on sideburns though and the hair is a medium brown...I kind of wonder if it shouldn't be darker brown or even black to look more like Jim parsons?). The brown shoes aren't loafers (hurrah!) and have little laces. The brown socks are standard Tonner polyester socks they've been doing since Matt O'Neill was born. Meh

The green and brown plaid pants remind me of the pants that came from Matt O'Neill's Country Club outfit (the one with the awesome ecru fisherman's cabled sweater) The t-shirt is a bit disappointing. I wish Tonner had done a full red undershirt under the Green Lantern T but alas all they did was sew a little red cotton tube of fabric to each T-shirt sleeve. Meh.

The body stocking is too tan for Sheldon's pale complexion and I'm not sure it was 100% necessary (neither the T shirt not the pants are lined) but hey it's a standard issue Tonner male body stocking.

The face paint is somewhere between the Matt 2 / Captain Paul /Jay /Victorian Holiday and the brunette Hardy Boy (Frank Hardy) but it's pretty good for Tonner circa 2014.

I think I want Amy's outfit (pieces look interesting) but I'm not sure about getting Amy herself.

I'd consider buying a second Sheldon (the one they announced first though this SDCC Sheldon (Sheldon Cooper SPECIAL EDITION) is the first to be in collectors' grabby little hands so I can get the other outfit (which I bet the only difference is the T-shirt), rip off the wig and play with him.

    No hurry on that though.
