Goddess of the Galaxy Barbie Doll

Ready to be released on June 15, 2011, Goddess of the Galaxy Barbie Doll was designed by Bill Greening for Mattel.  She is a Gold Label BC Fan Club Exclusive.

Get ready to go gaga for Goddess of the Galaxy Barbie doll, with out of the world, over the top glamour courtesy of designer Bill Greening. This bold beauty wears a molded metallic corset embellished with fuchsia "jewels" above a layered underskirt of shimmering fabric, a dramatic pinstripe cape, and silvery forearm and leg cuffs. Silvery rings with "jeweled" accents orbit an up-do with twisted platinum braids, and her dramatic face paint features ultra long, rooted, feathered lashes. She stands strong in thigh-high platform boots, with a look that says she's here to conquer the universe in fabulous fierce fashion!

Spectacular fashion! I would love to see this in person. The only thing I don't like about her is the cheek screening.

Are you going to order her?

  1. OK no price yet, lets guess, I'll say $170 plus ship!

  2. No, I won't be ordering. She looks kinda cool, but the prices on Mattel Barbie are becoming too high for what they have to offer--stiff bodies, the same old faces, lots of cheap, molded plastic in "jewelry", shoes, etc.
I think they have gotten stagnant, and I hope they can reinvent their collector line with new life and excitement. Haven't seen any evidence of it yet, however!

  3. If I know Mattel, those sequins will turn into glitter for the final product!

  5. I love her look and all the silver metal, I agree on the overdramatic cheek paint, I probably won't get her because she'll be pricey (unless she goes on sale a lot someday) and I need to conserve my fluff budget for Evangeline Ghastlys & some boyfriends for EG. I did spring for the Barbie as Athena with similar metal outfit in gold, and I don't regret it at all, she's gorgeous, I had the club that year & a sale & she was around $80.

  6. "Get ready to go gaga for Goddess of the Galaxy Barbie doll" Hmmm, gaga, I'm absolutely sure Mattel isn't trying to make anyone think of this as Lady Gaga Barbie, nooo, there is nothing at all to make us think that.

  8. Like the other person before me said I'd get her if she was within my price range. Because I'm a bit of a Sci Fi nerd I love this doll because she's so futuristic in the late 70's early 80's sense think Something like Buck Rogers 70's series or Some show from the Uk around that time. I do not think the company was saying anything about Lady Gaga It's just the word in general got catchy and it's used everywhere but Lady Gaga's influence on evereybody is so strong she is now the first thing anybody things when the word Gaga comes up. You can blame Freddie Mercury for her name actually.(song Radio Gaga)
