Superdoll's Happy Holiday Fashion Offering

Today Superdoll Collectables offered four fashions for sale. Each was 120. British Pounds or $188.63 US except for Bitter Pill which was 140. British Pounds or $220.07 US. Postage from the UK to the US added another $25.42.

Of course, I'd like to have all of them and although I was not planning to purchase anymore doll stuff through the end of the year, I did order Bitter Pill. It's quite beautiful.

Dreamscape looks appealingly frothy, sparkly and princess-like.

I'd need to see Emerald Oyster in person to appreciate it fully. The photos of all the black dresses were very dark. I adjusted the lightness and contrast in an attempt to bring out the details.

Etoile is even harder to evaluate due to the lack of visible detail. It looks interesting but what is going on around the neck and on the bodice? We'll have to wait and see for the buyers to post pictures.

I loved the first two fashions, I agree with you on the black ones. I need to see other pictures to truly appreciate them ;-) They are still in stock as of tonight, I'm so happy I was able to snag Dreamscape. It was a toss up between that and Bitter Pill, since most of my wardrobe is green and turquoise I decided to go with the princess pink. Lol. I love your blog, I check it everyday!

  2. Hi Terry,

There is a separate neck piece for Etoile, it is a bit like Couture Salon's except it features a large star shaped rhinestone. It;s a very nice detail IMHO. The dress is a heavy lace and on the hip is a large star done in rhinestones. From the center of it there is a black chiffon drape which is pulled over to one side and falls to the floor from there. The other black gown has a white satin bodice. There is a black lace piece with some jewels near the neckline. There a large black bow detail above the waist. Hope this helps! --Lady L.

    2. The dresses are so gorgeous! I think I will cave and get Bitter Pill although I'd love that frothy Dreamscape too. But... I also am terribly attracted to Emerald Oyster- so beautifully goth! I just wish there was a photo of the dress on a doll. There is actually a nice large photo of Etoile now in the newest edition of Haute Doll- it is beautiful as well but the only one I think I can live without. It is hard to limit myself to just one of these, but wow they are not cheap... still, they take up less room than an actual doll! We'll see...

  3. I came very close to ordering Bitter Pill. I should finish buying presents for other people first and then take stock!

  4. I think you made an excellent choice. It's different and the lines are great as well as the colors. It pops

  5. They all create a beautiful sense of atmosphere, but so far I've done a good job of convincing myself I don't need any of them. :p The lace of Etoile is tempting, and I do love the colors of Bitter Pill -- that olive green and magenta just pops! Can't wait to see your photos of it :)

  6. I went ahead and swallowed the Bitter Pill earlier today. Do I get credit for waiting another five days? ;-)

All of the dresses are quite lovely. It's a terrific collection for the holidays.

As I'm sure I've said before, dresses made of sequins/pailettes give me pause because of the tendency for them to "flee" the dress. However, I will say that the Sunburnt dress is one of my favorites; I just try to be very, very careful when handling it.

Black dresses are so elegant, but that always seems to be the go-to look. That's why Bitter Pill was the standout among the collection for me. Emerald Oyster looks very complex, and it seems that the detailing would be easily lost. Etoile was my second favorite, though, because of the contrast between the dress and the lace over it -- and that sash/train is quite dramatic. Maybe if it's still around in a month or so, it will be worth further consideration!

    1. Your credit for waiting is that you might get it before Christmas. :-)

    2. Troy, YES you get credit. I personally give you credit. As I always say, The Queen Bee does not like to wait. ;)

  7. Wow--those are quite lovely--Bitter Pill is my favorite, too. I love that it isn't black or too frilly. The combination of textures is just enough, I think. I feel like I shouldn't be buying a dress for a doll I don't have, though... it has been known to happen on occasion. ;)

    1. It might fit someone you have already. At least that's what I would tell myself.
