Haunted Beauty Mistress of the Manor™ Barbie® Doll

With hair that oddly resembles that of Cruella DeVille, Mattel releases another half-stiff $100. doll. This one has posable arms and hands. That's a start.
There are many collectors who do Halloween displays and she will be perfect for that.

Carrying her “candelabra” and manor keys, Haunted Beauty Mistress of the Manor Barbie doll greets guests wearing a plum jacket featuring a dramatic bustle and a long, sweeping skirt. A wide swath of white runs through her black hair, which is pulled back into a bun. Earrings, a cameo brooch and Victorian-style boots are her elegant accessories, along with her Life in the Scream House “book.

At least she's not smiling.

  1. Arrggh, she reminds me of someone, but I can't think who. Some actress from an older film with hair like that. It's going to drive me crazy now.

    1. The mutant girl whose hair turns white...she's in love with what's-his-face - the one with claws...LOL

    2. But Rogue is in love with Bobby, the Ice guy. Wolverine (the one with the claws) is in love with Jean (some "can do everything and has the power of the whole universe" girly) but she is engaged to this guy who spreads lasers from his eyes (now I dont remember his name...)

  2. That costume looks like Tonner's Gothic Romance for metro dolls. #boring #beentheredonethat

    1. The Gothic Romance outfit is much better! Can this outfit even be removed?

  3. The outfit does not do it for me....but I really like the doll.
As far as looking like and actress....the white streak reminds me a little of Dana Wynter.
    As always love the blog

  4. I like your term Half- Stiff!!! Its look like mattel is very hesitant to produce fully articulated Collectors Barbie!

  5. I love weird Halloween stuff, so I think I like her. She does look like a cross between Lily Munster/Bride of Frankenstein and Judith Anderson in Rebecca (but better looking) I didn't get the "Ghostly" Barbie, but I might get this one! Thanks for showing us.

  6. If I had to choose between articulated arms/wrists and legs, it would be arms. Why is articulation okay for Fashionistas but not the collectible dolls? Are Barbie collectors against articulation, or does that make them too much like Fashion Royalty dolls? The accessories are really fun, but with that look and hair I think she would be rather limited in redressing/displaying -- or maybe I just lack imagination. :-)

    1. Troy...that's a question I ask myself often. Perhaps they are against change. Who knows? I'm sure they do not use Fashion Royalty dolls as a guide for their decisions. :-)
