New 2015 Tonner Spring Mainline Release Dolls

Marley Wentworth has grown up. Tonner is offering one basic, three dressed dolls and two separate fashions (not shown.) The doll in the blue coat looks very much like Tyler.

There is a line of new 18-Inch "My Imagination" Dolls. I think they can be very good competition against the American Girl doll as they are cute with nice hair and adorable outfits at a better price.

My favorites are the Re-Imagination Dolls. These are dressed dolls with various sculpts ranging in price from $169.00 to $218.99.  Haddy Madigan, top left below, reminds me of Megan Boone who plays Elizabeth Keen on Blacklist. Blue eyes, shape of jaw, hair color, pressed together lips...my imagination?

I don't know who Charlie Dodgson is. Perhaps he's just a new sculpt. I am seriously in love with Bianca Lapin, the last of the four below. I adore the Duchess sculpt and her outfit is just crazy enough to appeal to me. It says her hair is rooted but it looks like a wig to me. She has a faux leather dress under the faux fur.  The 16" chic body is used for these girls. According to Dreamcastle's definition it uses Antoinette's lower body with larger shoulders and a larger bust.

My favorite Tonner sculpt, Supergirl....Ugh...why does she have to be so gorgeous?
$179.99 Retail "Bombshell" Supergirl.

I hesitate to pre-order Tonner dolls as I would prefer to wait and see the IRL dolls.

Most of you already know that there are many doll dealers who discount off Tonner's retail prices.
Don't pay retail. Find the dealer nearest your location and order from them. Keep the doll dealers in business! Your warranty is in force no matter where you purchase your Tonner doll.

    1. Lots of people are happy to see Jon's sculpt back again.

  2. I'm not sure what I think of Marley yet, but I like the Chic sculpt, it's quite nice. (Although the array of different body sculpts is getting a little frustrating for someone who likes to switch outfits around... :S ) I'll be waiting to see pics of the production dolls, for sure.

I'm so excited about the Alice Re-Imaginings, though! I definitely want to get my hands on Bianca, and I'll have to ponder Haddy. (She is reminiscent of Lizzie Keen, I totally see it!) Charles Dodgson is the real name of Lewis Carroll... that's cool and all, but he seems like a slightly odd fit, unless the "twist" is that he's imagining this all-female cast of Wonderland. He's a nice-looking sculpt, though.

    1. Andi: Chic is not the name of a sculpt, it is a body type. Marley has a new sculpt.
Thanks for the information about Charles Dodgson.

    2. Oh, I meant the body for sure :) (I suppose I'm still used to occasionally calling bodies "sculpts" from my Asian BJD days!)

    3. It was a desperate scramble (the name that is) - they wanted Alistar Wonderland- but Mattel had already nabbed that for a Monster High doll... I'm not so sure Charles Dodgson was a good second choice- I love the idea of a male "Alice" type figure- but I've always had mixed feelings about "Lewis Carroll" aka Dodgson. Not sure I want a doll that may or may not have inappropriate feelings towards some of my younger doll characters... lol

    4. Huh, that sounds like an Ever After High doll in the making... neat! Too bad for Tonner, though, a male Alice character would have been awesome!

  3. I have nothing to say about these dolls.

  4. I absolutely love Super Girl- her outfit is ridiculously gorgeous, and so is the doll. But Wonder Woman is my special lady- plus the wife loves her so I can't go wrong there. Only problem, no preview, but I suspect she will look as awesome as Super Girl. So I (probably stupidly) ordered both...

    1. Heh...I changed my mind and pre-ordered the White Rabbit, Bianca Lapin. She is adorable!

    2. Oh fabulous! I thought she was really cute- can't wait to see your in-person shots of her!

  5. Super Girl looks like an old movie star, Virginia Mayo- NOT a bad thing!!!! What a bombshell!!!!

Charlie Dodgson is Lewis Carroll's real name. I'll probably preorder Charlie, Bianca,Tweedle de de, the basic Marley, and Skyline Blue Marley.

I hope we see Tyler and Sydney in Fall on the Chic body. FINALLY!!! The knee joint problem solved!!!!

    1. Maybe the Chic body will be made available separately. Wouldn't that be interesting? It doesn't solve the problem of who will wear the many gorgeous Tyler fashions I've held on to. A better solution would be to fix Tyler's knees.
      Thanks for chiming in, Steve.

  6. The one I am most excited about is (of course) the one they don't have a photo for yet: the 1966 Batgirl doll. It will be interesting to see if the sculpt is accurate and how well made the costume is. This could be a knockout for Gene.

    1. She is very much anticipated by so many I've heard from. Not sure if they would wear the same size but everything can be altered down.

  7. I'm not sure why Tonner felt the need to give Marley a new body style. Like Andi mentioned, all of the different sizes make sharing clothes more challenging. The idea of aging her in the story line is interesting, and I like them adding a new sculpt, but I would have preferred the body style to use the Cami/Jon/Antoinette one. The clothing seen so far hasn't bowled me over. Marley's clothes should be younger and edgier, so I'm hoping that is the direction they take.

The Re-Imagination dolls are just fun to look at! If the retailers offer them at a discount, I might pick them up.

That Supergirl is stunning. When I read Steve's comment about her being a throwback to old movie stars like Virginia Mayo (movies of the '30s and '40s are my favorites), my head was bobbing up and down in agreement. She is definitely one I'll be looking for when she comes out if she looks that good IRL. She may be the perfect intersections of three of my hobbies: dolls, old movies, and comic books. Supergirl is a sentimental favorite from her Adventure Comics run. :-)

    1. Troy, do you collect Gene Marshall dolls, too?

    2. I do have a few of those dolls, including the White Orchid from JS. The clothes from these lines are just the kind that I love, and cover such a range -- from spectacular ball gowns to travel outfits to cowgirl.

    3. Do you post pictures on any of the doll board? (not that it's a requirement :-) )

    4. I don't, because the pictures I have taken are not shareable. I bought the FDQ digital photography book, but I haven't had the chance to read through it yet. "Sometime" in the future I want to start working on it because it looks like fun!

    5. It's a useful guide. I also recommend reading the manual that comes with one's camera. I often have to refer to my own manual. I forget lots of things. Sigh.
