Tiny Kitty and Poppy Parker

I was very happy to received the new Tiny Kitty "A Capital Affair" UFDC exclusive doll this week. If you've been following my blog, you know that Tiny Kitty is making her comeback. I remember asking Robert a few years ago why we are not getting Tiny Kitty. He replied that they were so busy, they just couldn't get to her. Well, I'm sure they're just as busy but, thankfully, she's back. A lot of people are very happy about this as TK was an extremely popular line of dolls. Even now, past dolls and separate fashions command hefty prices - most are equal to or higher than the original retail! That's pretty unusual for a vinyl doll.
TK did not get time in the studio as I'm getting ready to leave for NY and the Tonner debut. But here she is, on my kitchen table, and I think she is one of the prettiest TK's ever.
She came packaged in a beautiful giftset box, her second fashion neatly attached to a padded lid.

Will she need a fan when dressed in her lingerie? Hmmmm.

The only thing I did not care for were the cotton knit gloves. This is the same fabric that was used for a  Marilyn Monroe outfit and it just doesn't work for a doll. I was surprised to see it used on TK as her elbow length gloves have always been a knit fabric with a sheen. Perhaps the factory took things into their own hands. :-(

The embroidery is lovely as are the details at the neckline.

Very pretty and intricate updo.

The other doll that arrived is Poppy Parker, "The Young Sophisticate." She is one of this year's W Club exclusive dolls.

Pet Dog, Petunia
This Poppy is pretty. I like the blended ash blonde tones of her hair.

What do you think of these dolls? Did you get either or both?

  1. I am tempted (for the first time) by this Tiny Kitty. I love her period look and dress. I think she would be a good dog parent to Poppy's little poodle!

  2. I'm so glad you are getting some Tiny Kitty. You've been patient! Have fun at the Tonner event! I bet you are ready for that big reveal. Did you ever get a hint? I'm still guessing an increased articulation doll (in fabric crafting, buttons equal articulation). Please have safe travels! Watch out for those New York drivers! ;) don

    1. That's funny. I was a NY driver until a year ago. LOL Wait a minute - you're a NY driver.
No hints on the reveal. They've really kept this one under wraps. Stay tuned.

  3. I think TK is gorgeous. I collected her for a while and was sorry to see her go so it's good to see her coming back. Great hairstyle. I remember some of the Kittys had extremely fussy hairstyles but this is perfect. Lovely ensemble and presentation.
Have Poppy's lips always been that big?

  4. Not buying much, but TK is right up my alley! Love the gown. Rave hair is a favorite of mine.

  5. Oh no--Tiny Kitty is back, and that means my dolly budget won't be in good shape for a while! :) She's lovely! Great photos as always. :)

  6. Love them both. Have Poppy on the way and yes she is known for her "Bardot" pout. Have one of the previous TKs and they are adorable. Glad she is back!

  7. So glad to see TK coming back. I have 3 or 4, had just started collecting when she was discontinued. Only drawback was lack of articulation, but looks like the new ones will be good. I just got that Poppy, but think I will be selling her to help finance going to the IT convention! I really liked the Spicy in Spain, this one does look like she's had collagen injections! SusanF.

  8. As soon as I read your blog about the new Kitty, I snapped one up on EBay. I LOOOVVE her!! I'm thrilled that she has more points of articulation now. Love the gown, especially the brocade stitching. I love the color and style of the hair. I agree with you that the gloves are made of a funny material. Love the lingerie, but wish TK had come with a pair of underwear, because it's pretty see-through! ;-)
