Back in the Doll Room Again

I'm happy to report that today was the first full day without a horrible back spasm. I did not miss them at all.
Yesterday I kept busy by photographing an assortment of new and redressed dollies.
Two of the latest Tiny Kitty dolls arrived and they are lovely additions to my TK collection.
Besides the rise in price, I do notice a lack of detail and accessories. Tonner always impressed me with his handling of fabric in that there would be some sort of embellishment be it embroidery or beading or something. That's not included with these gals. There are no purses and the shoes are the kind that has the twisty elastic. But I do love their faces and hairstyles so I'm happy with them. First up is "Dinner Dance."
Below is "Pink Champagne." She is also seen in the third photo along with the TK from MDC.
They did come with earrings but I took the pictures before inserting them. One of these days I am going to set up all my TKs with their furniture and other props for a big photo shoot. One day.....
___________
Before an Integrity Toys convention there is always a flurry of great sales. Luckily I'm not particularly in the market for any of their products but when someone offered this two piece outfit from A Fashionable Life Gift Set, I snapped it up. I sold mine so long ago and I thought it would look divine on one of my Silkies. I was right.
The quality of design and construction was so good under Jason's helm. If you didn't already know, all of the fashions made to fit the dolls prior to the "tall body" fit Silkstones perfectly-including the shoes. So if you see a gorgeous fashion from that "era" buy it if the price is right. Your Silkies can show it off to it's best advantage. They can also wear "Monogram" doll and "NuFace" doll clothes as well as shown below.

One of the outfits I purchased at Metrodolls, "Smoking," fits the Tyler body best of all.
The pants and shoes fit the resin Gene body beautifully but the rest of the fashion (halter, bustier, jacket, skirt) fit Tyler (Sydney, etc.) best.

A new Cissette joined the tribe. She is The White Witch of Narnia. So cute!!!!

The Ficon doll known as Miss G White arrived. I am very happy with her. I have her in her sister's outfit and a wig by Ilaria.

She is posing with Toxica who is wearing part of an outfit from Every Day's a Holiday.

Toxica's wig is by Chewin and was made to fit a JamieShow male. Unfortunately that male is not Alejandro and I have no other wigged males. Soooo, I heated this wig in a heating pad a few times to shape it and I trimmed it a little. I like it on her - for a change of pace.

Violet was also in the doll room trying on one of Sandra Stillwell's fashions from Radio Days.
I'm not thrilled with it. The background is too busy anyway. It is a busy room!
Now you want to know who that handsome Devil is, don't you? He's Devil Damon, an Integrity Toys' doll. Yes, I do still buy some of their dolls if they are extraordinary. He is definitely not ordinary.
They say the horns are removable but I don't think I'm taking them off just yet.
He is a dangerous character having already attacked one of my Elises.

Well that's about all I'm going to stuff into this overly long, run-on post tonight.

****************

Wait.....I forgot one thing. Here is a picture of the largest sunflower head I ever grew. It  measured 14" across (not counting the petals or anything.) Do you believe this? We have the worst fricking soil and this thing grows 12' tall and 14" across. And it's not the only one.

Emilia's Latest Release: Success!

After what seemed like interminable delays, Emilia Couture finally released Cherub, the LE 10 basic Inamorata and two color versions of Vertebrata, a custom fashion. Vertebrata came in "Nude" LE10 and "Dust" LE 20. There are only a few Dust remaining.
 Above: Cherub LE 10

Photos show Cherub modeling Vertebrata in Nude. Vertebrata herself is a 'basic' doll who comes dressed in a lovely, lacy lingerie ensemble.

Here is a message Emilia sent out this morning:

I am very happy to announce that the Cherub doll LE20 sold out within 12 hours, closely followed by the "Nude" colour variation (LE10) of the Vertebrata gown. The other colour variation has been even more popular, but due to it's larger edition size (LE20) there are still few left in our store. It has been a remarkable sales event and I'd like to thank you all for your patronage and making my dream of my own doll line come through! Every time I release LE items I'm so nervous they won't sell and it'll all be over, but you pulled me through once more and I am so grateful to all of you.

I have also been updating the website and you can now find more information there about Inamorata dolls including a new product archive with a list of every Inamorata creation ever made - both LE and OOAK. The FAQ and commissions info have also been updated, so be sure to check them out although I'm always happy to reply to your emails about anything.

This Week in the Doll Room

I've been MIA all week due to a back attack. I don't know what else to call it. Horrible.
Just prior to the attack I'd been playing in my doll room with an assortment of dolls and here are some of the results. Can you identify each one and what she's wearing?

Violett and Gabby by Doug James: The Sequel

I have gone to the source for the best description of the new Violett and Gabby dolls, Doug James himself. The proud Papa of these lovely new resin BJDs was at MetroDolls this past weekend.

Violett, the doll Doug is holding, was played with by me at the event. I found her articulation to be excellent. I actually put her on the table to see if her legs would support her body and she stood on her own. (Don't try that at home.) That is very important to me as a photographer. She can touch her face. She can cross her legs. She can put her hands behind her head. I think she looks a lot like Joan Collins - the young version. All she needs is some big hair and lots of jewelry.
Each doll is a limited edition of only 20 pieces!

The dolls are $485. with free US shipping.

Here is what Doug wrote:
The new Violett and Gabby dolls are in many ways the same as the originals, they're 16 inches tall, they have have many points of articulation and  they can wear most of the clothing of other 16 inch dolls.  There are, however, lots of differences, too.  The new young ladies are a very high quality resin and they have 14 points of articulation, not 12.  Although the body is very similar, it has been resculpted and refined. They have a slightly smaller bust; their hands are more graceful; the painted eyes are just a bit smaller and more natural; their ears are more refined and in general there's more detail in their bodies. The resin  Violett and Gabby have light body blushing, French manicures and beautifully done hand painted faces.

This first edition of Violett and Gabby are "The Somers and Field Black and White Gala" Both girls are dressed for the London store's yearly black and white event which has a 1920's theme this year (1969.)   Violett has borrowed her Mum's Onyx bracelet and Gabby borrowed her Mum's double-strand pearl bracelet.  Violet wears a mini dress, very 20's, of black and white micro sequins and paillettes with black and white organza straps that wrap around and become a bow under the bust.  She has black and white earrings (her ears are pierced through the earlobe and out the back, not into her head) and 3 bracelets.  She has a small black velvet handbag and her sandal T-strap shoes are beaded with white and gun metal grey beads.  Her black Bob wig has a clear rhinestone clip at the side.  Both girls come with a custom clear plexiglass stand and authenticity card. Violett is available now.
Gabby, who is coming the beginning of the year, has beautiful caramel skin and brown eyes.  She wears a honey blond wig and has grey faceted drop earrings.  She wears 2 large bracelets and carries a black and white checked handbag.  Her 20's inspired dress has a white satin finish under dress with a black net overlay that is striped with tiny black sequins.  Her strappy shoes have black bows at the toes with a grey gem in the center and black criss-cross ankle straps. We are taking reservations for Gabby currently.

Alexandra Forbes has graciously taken several amazing photos of both Violett and Gabby and they're can be seen there as well as the pictures on the link to the dolls order page at http://www.ceddolls.com/gabbyviolett.htm
