REBEL PRINCESS Generation_X
Clone: 1000 Venus d'Royce
*please note different monitors may show colours differently.
*production may vary individually and from prototype shown.
Dreamy
vanilla caramel eyes, arched for attitude brows in blonde with shadow
of rose and muted blacks. Lids in translucent dark grey. Lips the
colour of geranium infused rose.
Huge blonde wig bearing center
parting, in a 'voluptuous' state; cascading down either side of her face
and swirling into waist length big loose curls.
Today would be a
day out with the gurls. Shopping? Lunch? High Tea?, and Venus has no
intention of getting back to her ivory tower before daybreak, so she
decided on her leopard and paisley 'girly pentagram' puffed sleeve smock
frock; a pair of 'off beat' fishnet track pants. And just in case it
gets a bit nippy on this summers eve, a huge big yellow fur wrap! She
has this day to night to day feeling! Wrapping her neck in bling 'gold'
chokers to accentuate her cute organza collar and bow, she also added an
arm full of white lacquer bracelets. and finally adding that 'what the
heck is Boho anyway?' slouchy fringed shoulder bag of olive, trimmed in
real leather with England smiley, made her feel she had all she needs
in a purse.
She walked through the palace hallway, heading
straight for the open door of her unmarked tinted window auto with her
chauffeur closing the door, she murmured to herself, "see ya later".
Venus was heading out till tomorrow!
Additional
accessories: her cute flower and princess crown headpiece and her
stiletto golfing slip-ons in bronze, gold and hologram.
of course she comes with the following standards:
-manic_cure hands (see booklet for hand change instructions)

I think this one does an awesome job of conveying that "spoiled princess" vibe!
ReplyDeleteStill not in love with the Clone 1000 face, though :/ I miss last-gen resin Venus!
Definitely spoiled princess!
DeleteLove these new girls, but the wigs could be better quality. Got new wigs for both Solitaire and Mansion. It's fun to have the quirky fashion for this line of Rebel Princesses but do wish SD would return to a classic beautiful set of dolls, say similar to Couture Savage, Couture Salon and Swallow.
ReplyDeleteCan you explain how the wigs are not up to your standards?
DeleteI think she's amazing! :o
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute and I LOVE her fashion- although I am not liking the face of the vinyls quite so much- it looks fuzzy or something? I might like it better in person. NOT like Superdoll needs any help moving these dolls- they seem to be wildly popular and sell out instantly! I will admit that this fact alone does actually make me want the doll more, which is a silly reason to be tempted by a doll. So I am actually a little glad that the dolls have been sold out when I finally get around to looking at the site- since I would probably not be able to resist one otherwise, and the price is a bit high (for me) for a vinyl doll that will come with fairly unimpressive packaging (I'm a big fan of lovely packaging).
ReplyDeleteI think it happens to all of us - that crowd phenomenon of wanting a popular doll. I do hope that the packaging is improved on this one.
DeleteThanks for your comments.

I can only speak for Cameo, which I managed to find on the secondary market. She came in a pink and white box similar to the Sybarite resin dolls I've purchased, though the inside packaging is just cardboard and tissue paper with the Superdoll ribbon instead of the more luxurious setting. I'm hoping that Mansion was a one-time packaging deal. What was Solitaire's packaging like?
DeleteSolitaire was packaged like Fashion Royalty dolls - in a good weight cardboard box - rectangular. I think there may be a photo back a few posts when I got her...not sure. If you want I can email you a picture. Send me your email in a comment which I won't post.
DeleteNot too into bohemian chic (boho chic), so safe here, LOL!!! I do get an Amanda Lapore vibe off of her- the eyebrows? The lips? Cool fringy purse, though.
ReplyDeleteThe lips, for sure.
DeleteThis beauty will be my very first Sybarite. After trying to get one at retail for a few years, I was finally on the site at just the right time. I have never purchased anything from the UK, so I am unfamiliar with the VAT thing, will I be charged extra upon delivery or is it a sales tax only applicable to buyers in the UK ?
ReplyDeleteVAT (value added tax) applies only to UK buyers. You will pay nothing upon delivery assuming you are in the US.
DeleteThank you so much Terri, yes I'm in the US.
DeleteA small correction is in order here Terri - its not only in the UK but actually all Europeans are charged the VAT when buying from superdoll... which totally sucks IMO.
DeleteThank you, Carima! I definitely was under the wrong impression.

After expressing some, ah, dissatisfaction with the way many dolls are released so that we slower-than-average-in-completing-checkout buyers don't seem to have a real shot, I wanted to 'fess up that a release finally worked in my favor. I can now appreciate both sides of the successful/unsuccessful fence. :-)
ReplyDeleteLike Tommy B, I just happened to check in at the site at the right time. It must have been within a few minutes of the release, because my email confirmation came in at 1104 Eastern. It's been almost 24 hours with no refund notice -- like I received with Solitaire -- so I'm taking that as a good sign.
The Rebel Princess theme is a fun one. She is going to shake things up and add some variety. I'm hoping that they will release some separate fashions to go along with them -- and in sufficient quantities to support the Gen X market.
Does anyone know if/when they are going to go back to the resin dolls? They've created an exciting environment with the vinyl dolls, but that is probably also developing a sense of anticipation for the Sybarite collectors who want the resin dolls.
So happy for you, Troy. I, too, clicked on at the right time. It was an hour earlier than I expected but there she was. As far as the resin dolls, what I've read is that there may be OOAKs but they won't be going back to LE production.
DeleteI totally missed this one, due to the usual hassles. I don't know why i was/am still so hurt to see one go onto ebay in its original packaging. I will wait for the next one
ReplyDeleteOh and many congratulations to those who purchased the doll and will eagerly devour all pictures shared.
