While I'm looking at the Barbie site, I may as well talk about Lady of the White Woods Barbie. This is another Gold Label doll with a production rum of 7700 units. She went on sale on 1/14/15 for $100.
She looks pretty nice from here but...

...I do not like the organic swirls and seashell scallops on her face. I guess she's supposed to look like she grew from the forest floor.  Love the crown, the neckpiece and wrist pieces. If anyone out there has this doll, please post a review in the comments section for the rest of us.

This mythical beauty is second in the collection and is adorned in a gown with coppery branches, ruffled tiers of ethereal chiffon and a bodice wrapped in nude lace. Her crown, neckpiece and shoes share the natural motif and are accented with a feather design. Bold armbands complete the look.

  1. I bought the Lady of the white woods because i have the Faraway forest elf already and was really looking forward to this line. Many people dont like how manly her face is. Shes the Louboutin mold and that has always looked manly to me no matter what doll it was. Ill see how i feel about her when she arrives, wont be till February.

The one thing I am so happy about that they learned from is that her fashion is not sew on as the elfs was. I hope that they continue this going on in that series.

  2. I bought Lady of the White Woods but I don't think she'll ship for a while...

I will be skipping on the Shamrock Barbie too. Was planning on getting her when I thought she was Silkstone but alas, she's not. And the whole outfit looks a bit cheap-y for $75...

  3. I love her skirt and bodice, but not so much the plastic accessories.

  4. The "forest" line doesn't appeal to me at all. The reasons I buy dolls and clothes (at least now) are for the glamour/edginess and the possibilities for redress/restyle. The elf and this doll seem limited in that respect. To each her/his own!

The Shamrock doll has a lovely face, and I'm a fan of redheads. The outfit isn't great, but I will probably pick her up because she is so attractive. I really liked last year's Valentine doll, despite the holes-in-the-feet-for-the-#1-feel. I just picked up some reproduction shoes, and she redresses nicely. :-)

  5. Pass on both.
The repro Shamrock Barbie looks a bit kitschie/craftsy. 75.00 for her seems way too high.
That entire line seems to be looking cheaper and cheaper with each release in my honest opinion.

I initially liked the Lady of the White Woods but seeing her face close up I was turned off.
There should be more play options and the screening does not allow for much variation in redressing.
The deal breaker is the Model Muse body which I will never pay 100.00.
The fashion itself is very pretty but the plastic accessories are too cheap and heavy looking.
I hope she's better in person for all that love her and ordered.
If she had a completely pivotal body I would have used a reward for her and adjusted the screening by removing the strange facial tattoos.
I wish Mattel would get the message...articulation is here to stay. While the Model Muse bodies are beautifully sculpted, they need to be articulated.
