W Club Upgrade Doll Eugenia "Modernist"

I am charmed by this little doll. She stood on my night table last night and now she's right here on my computer table. There are lot of things about her that make her very appealing besides her pretty face.

The new packaging is very attractive with its ivory box trimmed in mauve with a string closure instead of a lid.

The way they attached the desiccant behind the inner box and created a vented area is innovative. I've received dolls whose desiccant packs had opened in transit. I think that this is a great solution to keep the packs separated from the doll but still able to absorb moisture.

There are vents on each side of the doll's head. Around back, if you remove the inner box, you can see where the packs are affixed.

Another new feature is the accessory box. No longer does it slide in and out of a sleeve. It now has a flap that opens upward. They're secured to the inner box very firmly so if one wanted to save the accessory box, it would take some work not to ruin it.

Eugenia's vinyl tone is perfect with the make-up used. Her long brown hair will need shampooing to get rid of the dressing used in the factory which makes it greasy. I found her earrings odd in that the prong was going in a direction that had to be altered. I held my breath as I adjusted it. I already have a jar filled with broken doll earrings whose prongs detached during handling.

Her over-the-knee, open-toed boots have a silvery blue color. I could be imagining the blue tint but so what? The long zipper is a blessing in making them easier to put on.  The manicure and pedicure are the same color.

My favorite part of the outfit is her handbag. It's sky blue with the same color silver as the boots and has metal handles, a teensy working zipper, studs and a removable shoulder strap. It's so cute; I want one for myself in human size.

On eBay: Doll Shoes & Boots

I've been hunting around (wasting my life) for the past few hours for stuff for my 12" dolls. It never ends. I started out on Etsy and wound up on eBay. Here's some stuff I thought you might find interesting.

MSD Size 1/4 BJD Shoes Doll Boots  Dollfie 1311 Sale
Yosd Shoes 1/6 Size BJD Doll Boots Yosd Dollfie BB 012
Pink is everywhere!

Snow Boots for Blythe / Pullip / 1/6 doll shoes - white
Blythe 1/6 Obitsu Momoko Doll Shoes Crocodile Boots
You know you want these for yourself.

[Sunny's World] 1/6 Shoes ( N023BB )
New Dollfie Yo SD Mary Jane 1/6 BJD Dolls Shoes Gold
I love these gold shoes. The bows come off for another look.

Fashion Royalty dolls will not be able to wear these shoes mainly because the shoes are not arched but also because they would look ridiculous on a sophisticated fashion doll.

These shoes are mainly for Momoko, Obitsu, Blythe, Pullip, Yo-SD BJD, and I'm guessing Misaki will fit too. One seller gives the measurement of 'Inner Foot Length (Approx.): 1 3/4 inch (4.5cm).' The first pair of shoes is for a larger doll. Those are my favorites.

Go grab a doll and a ruler and check out the wonderful selection of shoes at seriously great prices.  These shoes are all coming from Asia-probably directly from the factories where they are made.  My eBay search was for 1/6 shoes in the Dolls & Bears category.

Nadja "The Illusionist"

Her story card says her full name is Nadja Rhymes; Age 19; Height 5' 11"; Chest 30"; Waist 26; Shoe 7.
Position: Freelance Model; Location: Los Angeles.
In this incarnation I'd like to think of her as an African princess. I love the fashion, her hair and her jewelry.

I wish Integrity could come up with a better matte finish for her skin which shows every tiny defect and seam in an extremely exaggerated fashion due to the color of the vinyl. At this price, it's a good idea to make the doll as perfect as possible. The other issue which still irks me is the way the heels of the boots are too high for the doll to stand correctly. I'm definitely going to write to Integrity on this one because it's been going on too long.
The hefty price of $169.99 plus shipping ($12.10) directly from Integrity Toys may have kept quite a few collectors from purchasing this doll. Although I don't collect Nadja, I couldn't pass up this unique one.
My recommendations: if you love Nadja, you are probably getting one anyway. I think the price of this one might come down as there are 500 of them and many are being more careful with their dolly dollars these days. There are already four of them listed on eBay that are very close to retail price. In fact it looks to me like two of the sellers will not make a dime and one will even lose money on the sale.
