"J'Adore" Gene Marshall

She's nabbed Violet's lavender ensemble, added some jewels by Facets and a hard cap wig by Cheryl Wood. There is something so innocent about this doll. I like her a lot.

A closeup of her sweet face:

And just because I like them...her hands.

Spring Dressing

I know lots of collectors who change their dolls' clothing according to holidays, to the season and such. I rarely redress my dolls just because of the weather or time of year. However, there's always a first time. Several of my Gene Marshall dolls were getting tired of what they were wearing and were begging me to get out some springtime frocks for them.
Here is the result.

Fashion Designer: Tim Kennedy : Blue Fox Gene Wearing Somewhere Summer

Fashion Designer: Veronica Alvarado :  Spotted in the Park
Fashion Designer: George Sarofeen  : J'Adore Gene Wearing Will You Marry Me?
Rogue Rose Gene in Sandra Stillwell's Delicate Bloom
Fashion Designer: Timothy Alberts : Dark Desire Madra Wearing Incognito
This entire photoshoot was disappointing to me because I feel the background in the last three images detracts from the dolls. There's not enough contrast and it's too busy with the gazebo and the ivy. It was a good idea that went wrong. The dolls look much better in person.
Not every photo session goes well. I hate when that happens. Perhaps redressing a bunch of dolls at one time is not a good idea. I feel uninspired.

This Week in the Doll Room

I've been MIA all week due to a back attack. I don't know what else to call it. Horrible.
Just prior to the attack I'd been playing in my doll room with an assortment of dolls and here are some of the results. Can you identify each one and what she's wearing?

This gorgeous combination of J'Adore Gene doll, dress by Bogue's Vogues and an Ilaria wig makes wonderful eye candy.

A Few New Pictures

Tulabelle: Trend Spotted
An impulse buy-$99 was a great price. I like her fashion a lot, her face not so much. She's definitely a candidate for a repaint but I'm not keeping the doll - just the outfit. The glasses are Horsman. She's got a hairnet on as she's going to a new home. I like my dolls a little more mature-looking but she does have a pretty cute vibe.

J'Adore Gene Marshall wearing "All About the Eyes."
I tried but I could not get those gold gloves on. If this were a vinyl doll I would have pushed and pulled until they went on...not with a resin doll.
For this gal, none of the available wig caps please me as much as a few of my Sybarite wigs.  I have seen several restyled JamieShow wigs looking really great but I'm not talented in that department.
I love this look on her.

Deja Vu "My Afternoon Stroll" wearing Sybarite jeans and sweater, Ficon sneakers and a random wig. I can't warm up to this doll. I need dolls to feel right from the start. She doesn't suit my style although she is very versatile and can wear so many fashion items I have already.

Precarious Precious Metal wearing Antoinette's "Optimistic" fashion and Fashion Royalty earrings. This doll's beauty was a surprise to me. Her original outfit was overwhelming and once I took it off, she came alive.

J'Adore modeling a gown by Atelier Soda.

Words don't do justice to this magnificent creation. Tom posted this on Studio Commissary.

Atelier Soda created this miniature rendition inspired by a piece from Christian Dior/John Galliano's Spring 2007 Haute Couture runway collection.  http://www.viva-soda.com/Product%20-%203%20Haute%20Couture/Atelier/Product_CT005_CoutureNo5.html

For my readers who don't know yet...J'Adore is a 16" resin BJD version of Gene Marshall designed by Mel Odom and produced by JamieShow. She was the most recent FDQ exclusive. Tom has redressed and re-wigged her for this stunning photograph.

FDQ New Exclusive: "J'Adore" Gene Marshall

The long awaited second resin BJD J'Adore Gene will be available for order on the FDQ website on Saturday, July 6, 2013. That's tomorrow, kids!

I can't wait to get my hands on this doll, to see her fashions and to play. Phoenix was a dream to photograph and this gal will be, too.  Link is coming soon and I'll publish it on Facebook.

There's no need to buy the magazine to order the doll but why not? Inside the Autumn 2013 issue, which ships on July 10, you will find great writing, great photography, interviews, coverage of events and so much more. This is the table of contents.
