"Just why did Athena Washington have a picture of Severine in that TOP SECRET file?"

[recap].......Penelope’s goal was to secure the sample before it could be used and return it intact to headquarters for testing. Unfortunately, the only way of the island was to dive into the ocean, swim out to the yacht where Interpol’s Severine Frost awaited her return.

Integrity Toys "Dolly Days"

W Club members were offered five opportunities to spend money beginning on 11/27 and ending on 12/1.  This week long event was called "Dolly Days."
On Monday, which was also Cyber Monday in the real world, they held a sale of all in-stock items which consisted of replacement doll bodies, older Style Lab dolls and fashions, ITBE dolls, Color Infusion, Katy Keene and AHS: Coven dolls, < MLP, Victoire Roux and select The Industry Dolls. Included as well were select Fashion Royalty and IFDC  2016 dolls,  Jem and The Holograms and a few warehouse finds.
There is still a load of stuff in the Integrity on-line store which is available to the public here:
http://www.integritytoys.com/shop20/home.php

The Second Day was all about Poppy Parker.
There were three dolls to pre-order from doll dealers and one IT direct via right-to-buy lottery which will take place next March. (Positively Plaid.) This last one is going to be available to 2018 members only so why show it to 2017 members? That is a rhetorical question.

Here are the dolls:

$130 Friday Night Frug

$160 Where It's At

$130 Hold That Tiger

$130  Positively Plaid
I decided a bit too late that I like Hold That Tiger. It's completely sold out everywhere. If anyone who has a pre-order for her and is willing to transfer it to me, please let me know.

Wednesday was the last Jem and The Holograms collection offering. I won't miss them.

Shana Elmsford  On-Stage Mini-Giftset

$150 AJA Leith On-Stage Mini-Giftset

$130 Jem  This is Farewell

Thursday New bodies were revealed. All were priced at $35. plus shipping.

I know some collectors are not happy that the low torso joint has been eliminated. That is not an issue for me as I lost a lot underwear as a result of said underwear getting caught in that joint.

It's too bad they waited so long to upgrade the Poppy Parker body so she could have a no-ankle-joint look. This is the body I wanted all along as I felt the ankle joint interfered with her overall pretty looks.

On Friday they finally released an interesting Fashion Royalty offering. This set consists of three heads with busts. Each head is an Adele sculpt from the first through the third.
I'm tempted but I only like the original head from this set. I am a big fan of the Adele 2.0 (the blonde) but I think this particular one is not as attractive as she could be.
The Faces of Adele is $200. plus postage. You get one full body and to additional busts with heads and all the clothing and accessories seen below. For an additional $30. you get two sets of body parts seen by scrolling down.

Of course, the more I look at it, the more I want it. Sigh. I suppose I could just keep Adele 1.0 and sell everything else...unless they look better in person. I wish 2.0 and 3.0 were wearing wigs.

From the offering:
At the W Club, we always try to think about what the collectors' feedback might be on each offering and anticipate as many needs as we can, as well as create solutions when we are able to. While "The Faces of Adèle" is meant to be a quick switch set & while each of the busts/portraits included with the set can be easily switched on the included body by simply disconnecting the arms and lower torso, we know that many collectors will still want 3 separate dolls. So, we spoke to Integrity and got approval to offer you an optional "Body Completer" pack sold separately that includes two sets of arms (with hands attached) and two lower torsos with legs attached, that will allow you to assemble all three dolls in this gift set into complete dolls for the added low price of only $30 + S & H per set!
Again, this is an optional offering. If you complete the dolls, they will no longer be able to use the Museum Podium Stand, which is designed specifically to display one doll and 2 busts, not 3 complete dolls. This extra offer is not directly part of the initial gift set and is only being offered as courtesy.
A deposit of $15 is required now to pre-order this body completer pack (these are not full replacement bodies) and 1 optional body completer pack per membership is allowed. You will be contacted to pay the remaining $15 balance closer to their arrival at the warehouse. Otherwise, the same timing and procedures as listed above apply.

$30. for both.

Breathe New Life into Your Dolls with New Bodies!

When Integrity Toys recently offered AA FR3 bodies for sale, I purchased two although I didn't have an AA doll who needed a new body. Since then I've been hunting. Yesterday I received one of Jason Wu's first Adeles. She is Perfect Skin Adele from the 2004 Fashion Royalty line.
She came in a gift set with 5 (!) pieces of beautiful luggage, dressed in a faux leather outfit.
I had her back then, sold her and now I have her again with the latest body. It's just like having a brand new doll!
She is modeling Veronique's "Full Spectrum" dress, a La Boutique bag and jewelry by Joy Jarred.

The original body had arms that did not bend, a large bust, tiny waist, little feet and lots of problems with longevity. Silkstone clothes are perfect for the old body, BTW. And if you have fashions from the early FR days, you can conversely use them for your Silkstone dolls. Very useful.

Below image of the original gift set was found on a database with no attribution. Thank you to whomever took the photo.

Tonner 2015 Guilty Pleasures Convention Part II

The banquet on Saturday night was all about Marley, the new grown-up doll who is Tyler's sister.
The centerpiece:
Marley's Grand Entrance $199.
From here it looks a bit over done for my taste. The hat has to go now before baby birds start flying out.  Do those gloves have individual fingers? Congratulations if they do.
___________________________________________________

The souvenir gift set is the type of product that will bring people to conventions IMO. It consists of two complete outfits, lingerie, two additional pairs of expressive hands, a handbag, sunglasses and an extra wig. The black coat dress appears to have several large rhinestone embellishments. I like that they put in blue shoes instead of a  matchy, matchy pair. Lots of mix and match opportunities here. I do like that black dress a lot.
On the secondary market, this gift set may bring in some $$$ even though it's price is already lofty at $275.

Marley's Mad for Accessories  $275.

A shot from the Tonner Direct FB page shows the new Marley packaging to be very classy.

Child dolls on parade to their Patsy Ann break out event.

Souvenir Doll: Red Velvet Patsy Ann 14"  $150.

Look at the excitement on this living doll's face as she enters the ballroom! What a wonderful experience it must be for a child to go to a Tonner convention.

All these photos and more can be found on the Tonner Direct Facebook page. Thank you to the busy photographer for posting!

Fashion Royalty Convention Packet Released

Internet Photo
Included in the release is the notice that there will be a new Fashion Royalty spin-off brand. I don't know why the news doesn't excite me. I like Madame Alexander's Cissy doll but I wouldn't go to a Madame Alexander convention because I don't care for the other dolls that are included in their conventions.  From the point of view of a collector, I don't know that a convention is the place to celebrate a brand new line. We certainly can't say Integrity is boring because we never know what to expect.

The line is entitled FR2 and pronounced FR Squared. I think I'll always call it FR Two (I hated math.)  When something is squared you multiply the original by itself and you get more of the original. The title can lead to a great deal of speculation as evidenced by the 3 page thread on the W Club board.

Note: An email from the W Club just arrived. It says:
"...spin off brand called FR2... This new line will have a brand new body, new characters and a renewed couture style by Jason Wu. "
Haute couture (French for "high sewing" or "high dressmaking"; pronounced [ot kutyʁ] OHT-koo-TOOR) refers to the creation of exclusive custom-fitted clothing. Haute couture is made to order for a specific customer, and it is usually made from high-quality, expensive fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finish by the most experienced and capable seamstresses, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques. Couture is a common abbreviation of Haute Couture, which refers to the same thing in spirit.[1]
It originally referred to Englishman Charles Frederick Worth's work, produced in Paris in the mid-nineteenth century.[2] In modern France, haute couture is a "protected name" that can be used only by firms that meet certain well-defined standards. However, the term is also used loosely to describe all high-fashion custom-fitted clothing, whether it is produced in Paris or in other fashion capitals such as Milan, London, New York, Tokyo and Madrid.
The term couture style is being misused.

Integrity Toys' Logo
The Registration Package
The 30 page long layout is very artistic thanks to Alain's design skills.  Spooky castles and dark patterns infuse the package with a sense of Halloween and scariness.
The forms are interactive - there's nothing to print out and mail or fax. It's very tree friendly.

 The Workshops
All except one of the workshops is being held on Friday.  It's all very organized. I am registered for the first four workshops below.  The hubster will have to amuse himself.
  1. Poppy Ponies Up! - Rob “Uriah” Redden
  2. Thinking Out of the Box - Vaughn Sawyers
  3. Mini-Masterpieces - Steven Fraser
  4. Baby Light-Up my Fire! - Alain Tremblay
  5. FR Do’s, FR Don’ts - Francisco Garcia
  6. Recycle Those Doll Boxes - Ava Plummer
The workshops are free. Some of them will offer optional kits to use during the session. At the last Gene convention, the Madra head sold for the hairstyling class was a highly sought after item after the convention was over.

The Convention Collection

  1. “Always Polished” Dasha FR2 Dressed Doll (New Character!)
  2. “Night Vision” Count Adrian Von Lamberg™ Figure (New Character!)
  3. “Fine Romance” Eugenia Perrin Frost™ Dressed Doll
  4. “Scarlet Woman” Adèle Makéda® Dressed Doll
  5. “Out of the Blue” Kyori Sato® Dressed Doll
  6. “Wild at Heart” Lillith and Eden™ Gift Set
  7. “Ask Any Girl” Poppy Parker Gift Set
Seven items with a total of nine dolls. I wonder if Dasha is Tatyana reworked.  It's been a long time since Kyori appeared at a convention and many have been asking for her. The Lillith and Eden giftsets were very popular in 2008. (A friend notes that this wasn't really a popular giftset. I suppose it's a matter of perception.)

Missing from the above are Agnes, Vanessa, Veronique, Elise Jolie, Dania, Natalia, Jordan, Luchia, Tatyana, Isha, the Hommes, the rest of the Nu.Face characters, the Monogram dolls and the Avantguard dolls.

My guesses for centerpieces are Agnes (that's a given), Veronique, Vanessa and Elise. Perhaps those are my wishes as well.

Integrity Announces New Monogram Doll and Fashion

By the time this post is published (it's on automatic) I will be in Nashville, Tennessee for the Golden Age of Doll Couture event.  Members of the W Club get these announcements and are asked to wait until a specific time and day before sharing the information. So, this is being written on Tuesday evening and publication is on time delay.
The dressed doll is called "Extravagance." It is a limited edition of 300 with a SRP of $150.

The fashion is called "Escapade." LE 300. SRP $99.

I'm looking at it like a gift set. One doll and two complete outfits with a wig, nice accessories and very pretty clothes for $249. A little lingerie would have been a bonus but when I see it as a gift set, the price becomes more reasonable.

Stardust Wrap-Up ~ Is It Really the End of the Line?

I've had a whole day and a 190 mile drive to think about the answer to that question. I don't think it's the end. Someone will come up with something. What do you think? I'd really like to know.
.......

The day began with good news in that my defective Stardust doll was replaced. Thank you Joan and Melissa.
I thought checking out was going to be a hassle but the hotel was so organized and prepared with extra staff that instead of the 30 minute wait for a bellhop, they arrived in 10 minutes. There were many carts being pushed through the lobby piled high with Integrity Toys boxes and being followed by tired but happy collectors. Loews Philadelphia is a well-run hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and polite. The hotel was clean; the room was comfortable. I would definitely choose to stay there again.

It took me 3 hours and a large cafe Americano to get home. When I was about 30 miles from Woodstock the skies opened up and for a few hair-raising minutes, visibility was akin to looking through vaseline covered glass. And then the sun came out. And then the wind started blowing. Earlier this evening we had a tornado warning. What's next? Locust?

My baby (the dog) and my husband were very happy to see me. The spousal unit emptied the car. Men are so useful. :-) This is only the boxes that contained dolls. There was much more in my suitcases.
Then the unpacking began. Now the suitcases and cartons are empty. Dolls, outfits and swag are everywhere. I have tentatively decided what to keep and what to sell. I took quickie pictures of the boxed dolls and I dressed my flocked Trent in Matt's lounging pajama outfit. Isn't he great-looking? Only those who were signed up for Alain Tremblay's flocking class were able to purchase this doll. Most came with a different color flocked hair. Alain did beards and moustaches for those who desired them. He's definitely a unique Trent. Here are some pictures of the boxed dolls:Above: The souvenir gift set called "Daily Threads" that we were given one a piece at a time. On the left is the convention sheath and on the right is a Kio wig that was presented along with the doll on Saturday night. Above: Midnight Madra.Above: Men's Club Trent, the centerpiece doll from the Trent Luncheon. I believe everyone who paid $55. to attend that luncheon should have been able to purchase one of these dolls. We were all handed credit card forms to fill out in advance. These were pre-printed with our names! This led me to believe that everyone who wanted a doll would be able to buy one. What a let down it was to find out differently. I know a couple who didn't get one between them. They felt that the Philly cheese steak sandwiches were not worth the fee of $55. each. I agree with them. For $55. one would expect a really nice luncheon and not a sandwich buffet with very limited choices. I thought the food was fine but certainly not worth the price. I'm lucky that I was able to get a doll from a tablemate.

Above: "Fringe Festival" Ivy "Vee Jay" Jordan.

Above: "Moss Rose" Ivy "Vee Jay" Jordan. This doll was given as a table gift on Thursday night to all attendees.

Above: "Hostess with the Mostest" Zita Charles.

Above: "Dreamy" Trent Osborne.

Above: "Bellwether" Oona.

Above: "Midnight" Madra Lord.

Above: "Triumph" Gene Marshall
This doll was not received well at all. Many expressed disappointment at her severe hairstyle. I like her gown.

Above: "Parfait" Zita Charles. I think this is my favorite doll of all. We were given this doll on Friday afternoon at lunch. What a surprise!

Above: The convention souvenir doll "Stardust" Gene Marshall. In the box, it's difficult to tell how very pretty she is because her hair is secured by a net. But she is gorgeous and so is the gown. Mel told us the original designers of these gowns. The fashion sleuths on the Studio Commissary board have been posting photos that they're finding of the originals.

More tomorrow.
