Truly. She's...Terri is a great person to ask. Truly. She's very smart.

I will add: It depends on what you need to get back from your creations. You can also look on etsy and ebay for a sense of what things sell for. There is a ceiling on how people people can/will pay for things, so you have to reverse engineer that into your costs or take a loss. Sometimes a labor of love is worth it, but it won't keep your lights on.

As a buyer, I don't care about fancy packaging or presentation, but the difference between a 10 dollar item and 100 dollar item is in the details. Spend twice as long on it, and make 5-10 times the money. I used to do reroots. I have a policy of not producing anything I would not want to buy. I rerooted a MOTM Nichell to have flat long straight hair like it had been flat ironed. I sold one and made another. A buyer complained the hair was not full enough, but I showed her the photos she bought from where it was clear. And clear that it was intentional, because I had reproduced it again for my 2nd one. So I guess it comes down to realizing that different people have different tastes.
URIAHhttp://uriahredden.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-217917876331578492.post-5924630444890341562014-01-24T16:22:46.641-05:002014-01-24T16:22:46.641-05:00Really? The UK is RUBBISH for fashions and dolls, so toying with the idea of setting up a small company. I have a theatre costume background and thought about making gowns to sell. What is your view on independant, non-manufactured brands, please? Highest quality naturally, and including accessories. I speacialise in bead-work and embellishments so your comment about the belt on this gown gave me hope, and amused me. Many thanks.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-217917876331578492.post-86656978640042886862014-01-23T20:14:02.888-05:002014-01-23T20:14:02.888-05:00All the Ashleighs are theirs along.
