I've just searched Terri's b...Hello Uriah!

I've just searched Terri's blog for the "Lap of Luxury" dress; seems to be Alexander McQueen. Do you know the name of the Superfrock double?

Anyway, if I complain about dishonesty I have to try to stay honest. So the above Galliano dress was obviously a Soda re-creation, I was misled by the genuine Superfrock shoes and gas mask.

Just some days ago there was a film about Jean-Paul Gaultier on TV. He said that he tried to create the most intricate dresses so that they'll be hard to copy. For the same reasons everyting from shoes to hats is being made at his place.

Have a look at Sybarite Slipper, though. Or at Superfrock's "Orb", which is very much inspired by Cecil Beaton's day at the races gown worn by Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady".

I heavily doubt people like to be robbed, though.

By the way, as I have now inadvertently become a Galliano fan I hope that what he is being reproached with turns out to be a campaign.

PetraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-217917876331578492.post-58598369891028400012011-03-07T12:36:33.184-05:002011-03-07T12:36:33.184-05:00I love this topic- and have seen it discussed so m...I love this topic- and have seen it discussed so many place, so many times. There was one outfit that both Superfrock and FR copied. The FR Version was called lap of luxury. I remember they commented on their blog (before it was private) that their netting felt nice and the FR version was like window screen.

Everyone gets inspirations. Direct copying also occurs.URIAHhttp://uriahredden.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-217917876331578492.post-38720469719095335132011-03-06T20:47:36.206-05:002011-03-06T20:47:36.206-05:00Ah, I've found Soda. I repeat: Superfrock did not steal.

I still think this kind of copying is theft, as it is being done to make a profit. Even though you cannot always measure an idea in hard currency it does have a value.

There is something like an immaterial good, and the person who took time and pain to bring it into the world should not simply be robbed of it, i. e. have it taken away from them without any kind of compensation, be it money or at least giving them credit.

PetraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-217917876331578492.post-78411199131354782232011-03-06T20:37:09.349-05:002011-03-06T20:37:09.349-05:00So the Hokusai dress reinterpretation is not by Su...So the Hokusai dress reinterpretation is not by Superfrock?
