My Favorite Doll

Our dog, Rudy, passed away this afternoon after a long battle with congestive heart failure and related illness. I have a huge empty space in my heart.
This beautiful poem helps a little.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

  5. Dear Terri,
    I am so sad today...there are no words I can say to convey how sorry I am for you and Bob. Losing a beloved pet is so painful...the extent that is often indescribable. They are like a child to us. Rudy is in your heart forever. In my mind, Terri and Rudy are linked always...could not think of one without the other. I will enjoy looking at the many photos of Rudy. I remember the first time I met him at Marcia's BBQ and patted his precious, red & curly little head!
    You take care now and let me know if there is anything I can say to help.
    With love,

  11. Those are beautiful pictures of Rudy, and I love how he is "getting to know" some of your dolls. My dogs do that, too, very gingerly, as if they understand somehow. Pets are a very important part of the family for many of us, and their loss affects us tremendously. Know that we're thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
