Tonner: 75th Anniversary Collection - Wizard of Oz

Tonner revealed five new Oz family dolls. This time the twist is that they are all on the 19" Wilde Imagination Evangeline body.
Have they done an Amelia sized Oz yet?
Oz lovers who also love big-headed dolls will go for this collection.

Castle Stroll - Outfit

$139.99

GLINDA THE GOOD WITCH™

$249.99

WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST

$249.99

Absolutely WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST

$149.99

The fifth doll was a sketch of a basic Glinda. Apparently the photo wasn't ready because it says that the doll is available to ship.

I understand it from the company's point of view why stands are not included with these dolls. It's not like finding a stand for 19" dolls is easy. The Evangeline stand is a good stand and for dolls priced like these, the stand should be included.

  1. This collection seriously annoys me for several reasons:
1: How many times can Tonner redux the OZ dolls... in a different size variation... to me it's tired. What's next DejaVu OZ.... GWTW?
2: Evangeline is supposed be unique, and whether you like her or not, I am not the biggest fan, her artistry stands for what it is, sculpt and all. Are they even being offered by Wild Imagination?
3: Nothing here except the body looks all that new.. it's the same old trumpet dress or tier dress and the price point is really high. I suppose if you collect Evangeline, then the Castle Stroll is a nice dress... and if you want a new green friend. lol. Dunno. Plus, no stand. :-(

    1. Hi Erick:
I think Wilde and Tonner are 'combined' now. I really don't know the details and I'm not sure if combined is the correct term.
These dolls are not my taste but I hope there is a market for them.

  2. Let's see ... there's been the uncredited-but-inspired by WICKED: THE MUSICAL original Tonner dolls, the peculiar Ballerina (and GWTW) Oz dolls, the character Wizard of Oz dolls, the "authorized character likeness" WOZ line, the re(un)imagined Steampunk WOZ, and now this. I suggest Kitty Collier, Monica Merrill, Tyler Wentworth, et all in a combined TonnerWorld Wizard of Oz line--in several heights!

Seriously, Tonner has produced NOTHING I have wanted to pre-order or own in several years. For me, anyway, he has lost touch.

  3. Interestingly enough, I went to the site and the comments are through the roof, people love 'em. Nothing but Oooh and Ahhhhs! So good for Tonner, he has a great company and treats his customer's well, unlike some of the other doll manufacturers out there.

I guess I am still underwhelmed with his "innovative" DejaVu.... and overwhelmed with the resins. (I know apples and orange.)
