Multi-Doll Photoshoot

I think I may be cured from buying Silkstone dolls. Afternoon Suit Barbie is seriously bug-eyed. I know they all have the same sculpt but this one is painted in such a way that her eyes are bulging out of her head. And I'm not very happy with one side of her hair. That can be fixed - I think, but I've put her in the cabinet already. I like the fashion. It looks well constructed and fist nicely.

My rerooted Kyori got to wear most of Gretel's fashion minus the boots. I'm not even going to try putting those boots on her. I think she looks fabulous. She's on a FR2 body.

Allure got another chance in front of the camera.  I was more patient this time and I am very happy with her image. I used a tiny drop of clear Elmer's glue on the inside of her finger to keep the ring from falling off. I put rubber bands on her feet to hold the shoes on. I made sure to turn the edges of the coat inside so the 'lining' wouldn't show. Her hair took plenty of post-processing time in Photoshop. She looks gorgeous.

The outfit seen on Gene below is called Lotta Moola. I've wanted this ensemble forever.

Last but not least is Winter Grace dressed in Hypnotic Antoinette's gown. Black wig by Cheryl Wood.

It was a busy day.

  1. All of my Silkstones are bug-eyed. What's fun is to tilt her head back slowly and watch the eyes look at you. LOL

    1. For a Gene outfit, it was expensive. Much cheaper than a psychiatrist visit and longer lasting.

  3. Barbie's hair look like a similar problen they have had before with that "american girl" hairstyle. I don't know whether it's just the angle of the photo, but the part looks slightly off-centre, and gives it a look of a lop-sided wig ;-D

  4. Afternoon Suit's hair is perfect on mine. It is nicely tucked underneath and curled. The launch line of the Silkstone line had such great quality. No bug eyes, inconsistent head sizes, thick hair, every doll was perfect. Delphine had a hairstyle that was not over gelled, yet maintained the shape.

The clothes are wonderful this year though. Nicely fit and constructed. Afternoon suit does have a velcro belt that I was surprised to see. I actually don't mind it too much since I hate looping doll belts!

    1. Stan: compare the doll you received with the promo pictures with regards to the fabric appearance and lay of the jacket and skirt. There are major differences. I'm not a happy camper about this doll.

  5. Your right, Ive bought my last Silkstone, Afternoon suit is the last. Mattel has lapsed back into using synthetic fabrics in there supposed high end Silkstone line. I feel it cheapens the doll and once again....same old plastic. They dont even attempt to try to keep up with Integrity. Im done!
